I have an old two seater sofa in my games room so I'm usually on that for Xbox 360 gaming, and I have a leather high back office chair which I use for retro gaming on my smaller tv, and to pretend I'm Alan Sugar.

      Helpfulness - 4

      but...

      Humour - 9

Like spags I find I often end up with my legs crossed. But, I think this is bad for my back. Here's a test to compare how knackered your back is compared to mine:

Sit on the floor with your back against a wall. Your bum needs to be right back against the wall and your back pressed against the wall too. Now, can you put your legs out straight?

I'll take a look at this yoga business though. I mean, Dhalsim always seems pretty flexible so there must be something in it.

I bought a standard bean bag a couple of years ago thinking it would be the ideal gaming chair. It was perfect at first, but after a while the little polystyrene balls flatten and the bean bag loses its shape and becomes next to useless. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, especially not someone with a back problem. Now, the bean bag chairs might be different, but I'd do some heavy investigation and make sure they definitely won't lose their shape before buying one. I hate to think what it would do to an already dodgy back otherwise.

I'm directly in front of the TV surrounded by the 5.1 system great for movies and gaming. I normally sit on the floor using this floor chair which are pretty common in Japan. Or I lay on my side with a pillow under my left arm and my back resting against the floor chair. Very comfortable for when you're a bit tired.

Up close, wide eyed, legs akimbo

My room is sooo tiny that I have to sit with my face about 2 ft at most in front of the TV, hence the 3D effect not working too amazingly
I have just enough room to open up my padded garden chair that I sit in. I have a proper leather office chair in the loft which is my main gaming chair but the TV's too big for me to fit the chair in so I had to switch to the garden variety until I'm able to move. It's too cramped but it considering I spend most my time there it's like staring at a cinema screen as the TV takes up my whole field of vision.

Once I move I'm definately thinking a proper games room is order of the day

I have a sofa in my room... I sit on the floor and use it as a back rest. Same thing in the living room.

Cross-legged, surrounded by seven speakers, 3' from the TV.
                Kept you waiting, huh?

You're meant to buy refills and replace the innards periodically when this happens.

This is exactly what I do. Found I get much better performance than just sitting on the sofa for some reason.

Yeah, I did, but it just happens again. I'm left thinking bean bags aren't very good value for money and it's much better just to buy a normal chair and not have to keep messing around with it. It's like bean bags are the 360s of the seating world, except there's no three year warranty for when they fail.

This. I sometimes lay on the floor too using the seat cushion as a head rest.

I like to sit in the armchair with my feet up on the foot stool thingy. If it's getting a bit competitive, i'm an edge of the seat leaning forward type.

As much as I love my cab, i've stopped using it much as it was absolutely doing my back in sitting at it for extended periods. (Probably why i've ended up owning consoles again)
