do we know if our save games will be platform-agnostic too? It would be excellent if I could play the first half of Portal 2 on PS3, then switched over to PC continue from where I left off.

Also, I wonder how they'll handle achievements?
It would be pretty crazy if the PS3 Trophies and Steam Achievements for Portal 2 were merged into a single cross-compatible list. (Although I suspect some players would view two serparate achievement lists as a longevity bonus.)

I seems like this collaboration could be the beginning of seriously great things.

I really hope so. It makes so much sense to bring Steam to ALL Sony products.

Could be very exciting times ahead.

And who knows, maybe even decent Steam-esque sales

Lombardi did an interview with Edge where he said that PS3 saves won't work on other platforms

Lombardi admits that one planned feature wasn?t ready in time. ?We?re using the cloud so that you can save to Steam from your PS3, but we?re not involved enough to say that you can pick up your progress on the PC using your PS3 save ? we ran out of time.
?It?s achievable, but it?s hard, so next time!?

          Aw, poo.

Still, that quote more or less confirms the feature for future games.
Valve continues to think of everything and be awesome.

anothing issue which interests me - beyond Portal 2, what could actually use cross-platform multiplayer between PS3 and PC?
Surely anything competitive is ruled out, due to the inequality between KBAM and control pad.
