Im sure this has been mentioned many times but im requesting again. Can the peeps here kindly let me know the top PS3 games. Im talking about full retail(disc) based games and not psn stuff.

Ive only got a PS3 so not looking for ps3 exclusive stuff only but stuff that is also multi format.

I enjoy most types of games really. Been out the gaming scene for a few years to due to other commitments but recently bought a ps3 and now trying to get back in. Obviously being married now with kids means ive got much less time than I used to have but still, wanting to to get back into gaming.

I'd like the epic games such as MGS 4 along with the ones you can dip in and out of and play them at short bashes. At the moment, its the psn stuff im looking at simply, due to cost.

What good psn games are out there which have a online co op/against option?

Ive got Super Puzzle Fighter which is good but want to play against people. Tried going on line the other day but no one was on to play against

Like I sai, trying to get back into gaming so will need to look at what ive missed so far on the ps3 along with whats coming out, and slowly start building my games library up.

O yeah i don't think of the PSN there are so many great titles on there what about Pixeljunk Shooter, Flower, Wipeout HD/Fury

Ghostbuster is worth a look as well if you find it cheap.

In no particular order:

Valkyria Chronicles
Reason to buy a PS3. Great story with lots of cool character profiles that develop as you play, and some of the best strategy mechanics I've seen. A cool combination of real-time and turn based. Even if you don't like strategy games, this could convert you. Sublime watercolor artwork too.

Aquanauts Holiday (Asian version which is in English)
Enjoy swimming in the ocea, talking to fish and photographing the ruins of forgotten civilisations. Utterly beautiful.

Afrika (US version which is in English)
Go on a Safari and make money shooting animals! (with a camera)

Ryu ga Gotoku KENZAN
Be Miaymoto Musashi in ancient Japan. Classic JRPG design mixed with great visuals, mission structure and cool story.

Yakuza 3
Be a Japanese mafia guy. As above, a great JRPG style game with real time combat.

Way of the Samurai 3
Totally non-linear samurai simulator. Do whatever the **** you like. Join a cause. Help a town. Slaughter bandits. Be a bandit. Become a loyal servant to a feudal lord. Or just scavenge from dead bodies with your WIFE.

It defies words. 2010 GAME OF THE YEAR. Anyone who says otherwise is lying.

Boku no Natsuyasumi 3
You're a kid on your summer holidays. Catch insects. Go swimming. Look for bottle caps. Just have fun.

Forbidden Siren
Best survival horror on the system? I think so! You can psychically mindjack the shobito zombie enemies as they hunt you down. Great visuals. Creepy story. An essential purchase!

Demon's Souls
One of the hardest games you'll find. But with a great online component, and some truly ingenious level design which is well structured. Difficult but awesome romp through a medieval hell. Ignore poorly made crap like Dante's Inferno - if you're only going to play one game where a guy holds a European sword, it has to be this one. All other games involving European swords are redundant after this. (samurai swords are another matter)

A game that surprisingly no one has mentioned, Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition.

I love the GTAIV saga, it's the most immersive and beautiful sandbox city ever created in my opinion. I like the characters, the stories, the atmosphere, the shooting, the driving and the music. The Complete Edition offers insane value for money (£18) with the main game and the two completely independent expansions (The Lost and Damned & Ballad of Gay Tony offering about 10 hours of gameplay each). Only complain about it I have is that the missions get a bit repetitive and boring in the main game (drive someplace, shoot everybody), but the expansions make up for it.

Heavy Rain is quite atmospheric, story-driven adventure game if you like those kind of games. It's very cinematic and succeeds quite well in putting you "into the shoes" of it's main characters.

I'll second Valkyria Chronicles, Yakuza 3 and Batman Arkham Asylum also.
