    Still playing it - Halo!!

Ok this is getting silly. How long have I had Halo for? Seems like forever.

Lend it to a mate, get it back, play a few levels, lend it to a mate, get it back (missing it), play a level (harder setting), lend it to a mate, etc.

The last few days I've done The Maw on Heroic and just now managed to finish The Silent Cartogropher on Legendary. Well all I can say is WHAT A ****ING GAME! I'm not the best games player but you guys were right when you said the harder the difficulty the better the game!

Constant respawns lead to sitting and thinking about which weapon, which route, timing, shots to fire, who to kill, who to leave behind, the list goes on and the fine tuning gets better

So my thanks to Bungie for making what really is (for me) a perfectly honed experience that is truly absorbing in so many ways.

    Regards,
    alan m

PS: The Library is still crap though

I like the Library. Ive almost stopped playing this now after playing it intensely since its release, I got up so to Level 8 on Legendary, I may go back to try to finish it but Id rather have some new gaming experiences to be honest. Looking forward to the sequel, I hope they dont overcomplicate it, more of the same please.

The thought of a battallion of Warthogs going into battle really does something for me. Odd I know but it does. The trailer really has some fine looking moments. So much going on, so much confusion - excellent

The trailer reminded me of Steel Battalion with a pad

I liked the Library too, Marcus. It was very good in Legendary with a friend. I found myself and my mate getting ever more precise and efficient at clearing rooms of flood. We could see and feel ourselves getting better. Assuming roles and tactics.

I had the pistol and the grenades, he had a shozzy. I was picking them off from a slight distance, and trying to offer as much cover as possible, he was just running in and blowing the crap out of them.

By the end we were just fighting side by side, we both knew exactly what to do, and how each would react to the situation (we play a lot of games together).

By the end we were both shaking and majorly adrenaline pumped. So we thought it would be fun to have 2 player multi-player on a huge map with sniper rifles. We moved two warthogs as reference points on the map and played for about 25 minutes. It was stunning. It went from in your face, straight up and deadly tactics to much more detached hide your position while searching for the others. You had to look at the others screen, see what major points they were looking at and then relapse that back to your position (appx) in relation to thier position, then zoom and shoot. It was really, really great. But only because we are both really good, and really experienced. After 25 minutes the score was drawn at 9/10 kills each, and equal deaths.

I too love this game, and agree that Bungie should aim to keep it simple... I'm already concerned about the duel weapons... but I keep faith...

I've already got my cool quote ready for Halo 2:

            "Get off my planet!"

I hope that isn't carved in stone yet.

After Chief's cliched quote at the end of Halo, I think that fits in perfectly with his character...

I've not played it much since I got Soul Calibur 2, but I've had it since Christmas, completed all of the difficulty modes (legendary 3 times )... I think it's my most played game ever, and certainly the only game I've ever completed more than once. Bungie are gods.

Halo's a blast in single player, but overall Timesplitters 2 is the better package when it comes to console FPS.

TS2 has more options, more weapons, more modes, more characters, a level editor, more scenarios, customizable controls, multiplayer bots and even has levels that are designed for two-player co-op (unlike Halo where the 2nd player is just an afterthought). I'd have to say that I've had TONS of more fun with Timesplitters 2 than Halo.

Timesplitters 2 was utter trash, weapons all felt the same, controls were too sensitive, level design was poor and uninspired (apart from Siberia), co-op mode was a complete mess, the game was too fast for its own good.

Im glad that Free Radical are leaving the FPS scene for the moment.

As for Halo, yeah i play the multiplayer more than anything else, my friends love it.

You can't compare TS2 and Halo. While they are the same genre, they are totally different types of game with different goals etc...
