Leaving a 20-30 hour gaping hole in the middle isn't doing it well especially when the rest (story & character) wise was mediocre at best!

I personally liked the characters of XII. They were all in there for their own reasons and I can understand why there weren't any relationships built up.

Balthier and Fran are one of the best videogame double acts ever, they could easily carry a game by themselves. When they decided to choose a character from 12 to cameo in the PSP remake of FFT, who did they pick? Lets just say it wasn't bloody Vaan or Ashe... heh.

Indeed. But it was a game foremost. There was plenty to do in that time.

But they did pick Vaan as the XII representative for the Cosmos team member for Dissidia Duodecim.

Whilst ii enjoyed it while it lasted as it did have a great gameworld and some very good music tracks it featured far less sidequests & mini games than the previous FF games so there wasn't a whole lot more to do once it was completed.

And yeah Balthier was great but i never rated Fran and cant even remember which one she was which is saying something in itself as i did complete the game. Was she the one with the Rabbit ears?

She was Balthiers straight man (well, straight 7 foot tall bunny girl with a weird accent anyway). Has to have someone to bounce the one-liners off or they don't work...

I agree with what you guys are saying about Bathier and Fran, but I felt Bash, was a suitable version of Auron from FFX, to the mix.

Ive tried to play through the game twice now, and keep hitting a brick wall in terms of building my characters up. And I tend to stop around teh same spot, before moving onto another game...
