I actually just got Animal Crossing last week. Not started it yet but I guess now would be an ideal time with all the events coming up.

I've gone thru phases with AC but now im back into it BIG time, just the thought of seeing my grumpy fluffy bird neigbour dressed up in halloween gear is keeping me hooked! (..how sad).
Just as this game bores me with the days where nothing happens and constant visit from Gracie it suprises me how entertaining, funny and down right clever the holiday events are in the game. When it was Sports day I didn't have a clue what was going on at the well but just watching the aerobics and the running was entertaining.
Toy Day should be a hoot aswell.

I missed sports day ft: watching the "new moon" was pretty lame considering all you got to see was a reflection in the lake and everyone just standing there.. I was soo waiting for a cutscene of the moon

I really love animal crossing but there are so many things that could have been added. Like I cant believe there isnt a pub! some more shops, an arcade.. or sports field.. you could have gardens.. set up your own shop.. have wild animals.. its crying out for a library! gawd im sad.

I tend to go through phases where I get all addicted over a few days.. then end up spending too much time on it and getting fed up of the constant - going round talking to the animals that dont remember anything, have no consistency in what they say and repeat the same things then having a week or so of ignoring it and having a "whats the bloody point" type additude.. then missing the game and comming back to it agian.

The events in Animal Crossing are fairly dull. I think the best one I took part in was Halloween. The others seem to be pretty much - Find crowd, find mayor, get item, leave event. And the aerobics wasn't even that much fun. The controls on that were poor.

Lets face it, a lot of Animal Crossing's fun aspect comes from having a good imagination. Writing a diary for instance. Imagining that Animal X actualy does have a bond with you (bull**** they do). Writing letters to people and getting robotic responses in return. The game is very VERY primitive but it makes a nice change if you ignore the bad and get on with paying off depts and collecting things.

Yeah, I've been a little disappointed in Animal Crossing... inevitable I suppose as everyone has been raving on about it for ages and I only got it last month so my expectations were high, but I just feel as if there's not a lot to do...

It's definitely got some charm and I do enjoy playing it for 20 minutes or so every now and then.

The only event I've been to was the tug o war on sports day. Do any of the events allow you to interact or do you always just watch?

I'll have to remember to turn up for Halloween.
