I bought a Nyko perfect shot to play with on Ghost Squad..

Would I be better off investing in a different gun for the HOTD Games?
Like the hand cannon for e.g?

Nope, in my experience the Perfect Shot is as good as it gets, and plays just fine with Overkill

I agree the perfect shot is great, but if you can find a hand cannon cheap I would get it. Just adds that something extra special to the game
