Final Fantasy III (actually 6): Out on Friday for PAL Wii VC

I believe it's out on the 18th for PAL land, I can't find any confirmation of a US release.

Anyone who missed out on this and still reckons VII is the best should definitely give it a bash.

I'm half expecting this to get a 3DS remake so I'll hold out on it.

Never played it before though so it is still tempting.

When searching for a US release date it seems everyone and their cat is waiting for a 3DS remake... I don't think it'd hold 1/4 the charm as the original after going through polygonal treatment. Not by a long shot.

It'll be the US version because it was never originally released in the EU so hopefully it will be at full speed. It will have the original terrible translation however so waiting for a 3DS remake or getting hold the GBA version is probably a better option.

I'm not having problems with the PSOne translation, although was that cleaned up?

I'm thinking about ditching my PSOne save actually, as the load times between menus and battles is annoying.

There was ONLY an NTSC version, especially If It's named III. Terrible translation? Son of a submariner! The PSone version was awful, the load times were just bizarre. GBA ranks as my favourite, then SNES.

Why are people holding out for a 3DS version? I'd sooner have a PSP one in the style of I, II and IV.

Sunk over 20 hours into this back in the day, reached the phoenix cave and just couldn't muster the energy to play it further.

The GBA version is much improved over the SNES version.

Probabaly only looked better becuase it was on a small screen but it had a better translation and extra content.

People would be better off waiting if they belive a remake will be made, as I imagine the extra content and the up to date translation will be included.

Having said all that I personally think story heavy RPG's work alot better on a console than a handheld.
