    Happy 10th birthday GBA!

I only just realised this, but indeed, the Gameboy Advance got it's Japanese release on 21/03/2001.

Unbelieveable that a full decade has passed since it came out, as I remember popping to Telegames to pick one up as soon as they had them in stock!

It was also home to some of the finest gaming ever, be it Super Famicom ports or original franchises. Is it the best handheld of all time?

Any other GBA fans come on in and discuss!

Best games for me: Konami Krazy Racers, Bomberman Tournament, Pokémon Sapphire/Ruby.

I haven't played too many mind..

That was one of the first games I bought for the system and is still one of the best.

Quite a challenge too, especially on the higher difficulties.

TBH, it feels like it should be much older. I can't really remember my time with the GBA.

            WarioWare

            The Metroids were great too.
The GBA Micro was probably my favourite ever handheld, but then that's a few years newer!

Yeah, I got my GBA with that and.. Jurassic Park Park Builder..

Opted for a GBA over a PS2 as I'd completely skipped the GBC.

Mario Kart was totally amazing on the GBA. I really can't remember a lot else about it.

Final Fantasy IV, Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Final Fight One, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Gunstar Heroes, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Fire Emblem, Advance Wars - honestly, I could go on.

GBA is a wonderful console - and to be honest the only reason I keep a Gamecube around is to use Gameboy Player!

Ah love the gba, not quite as much as the ds but it's a close runner up it has some stonking games.

Also loved the connectivity between the gba & the gamecube it was used in quite a few fun ways & then theres the e-reader one of the things i love the gba the most for. I just wish nintendo would support stuff properly as there were nowhere near enough series for it even in japan but there were some fantastic addons using the cards. I have a weakness for any gaming hardware that combines cards in with it as i love trading cards.

It marked the end of the 2D Metroids... They were incredible

Golden sun 1 and 2 were freaking awesome too, some of my favourate RPGs ever.

I want a GBA store on the 3DS, it would be cool if they put some psudo 3d in it too.

I imported one with F-Zero and Castlevania CotM. Could barely see either of them but still loved it. An amazing run, some stunning games and I too think the Micro is the best handheld ever.

I remember the first time I saw one in the flesh - DavidFallows casually pulled one out of his pocket shortly after the JPN launch for a quick blast on F-Zero. He certainly kept quiet about that! Exciting times

Had to wait a bit longer for mine, trading in a load of DC games to get it with Mario Kart. Awesome until I dropped it and smashed the screen when pissed up at Uni!

I have the fondest memories of playing the GBA (/SP/Micro). So many good ports of SNES and other games. Remember playing GTA and Doom at the back of the class during my old crappy Religious Education classes at secondary school!

This thread has just made me search for a racing game I used to love, Racing Gears Advance, must downlo.., er, I mean purchase it again...

Got my white one from ACE the day CEX got Final Fight One in stock. SSF2X Revival is probably my most played handheld game ever too. Didn't have it for long mind, Mario Kart was the last game I bought for it.
