[POLL] 3DS, an unexpected error has occurred

Who getting this and in what game?

I've had it in Ghost Recon, as has hoolak who asked about if the Ghost Recon thread. I've done some searching this morning and it appears quite widespread and not limited to just one publisher's game/s.

On my machine it is just Ghost Recon though, SFIV, PES 2011, Pilot Wings and Ridge Racer have all been fine.

I'll guess buggy firmware? Owners of Japanese 3DS, have you had errors?

Mods, please move if you feel this is in the wrong place.

Indeed I have, three times, all on SSF4 (UK Model). The other six games I've got have given me no trouble. Weird.

i haven't had this once on either my Japanese (w/ SSF4 & RR) or UK units (w/ PES & Pilotwings). Have you updated the firmware which is suppose to stabilize the software as well as a 3D video?

First thing I did when I unboxed it Friday evening.

Not experienced it on mine but it's appalling that it's happening.

Crash bugs should be an extreme rarity on consoles. Either there's a major firmware bug or lots of games haven't had enough testing. Either of those simply shouldn't happen.

Thanks NeoStuey. Thought it was just me. I'm a bit surprised at Nintendo.

I also had one strange happening where I had left Ridge Racer 3D in Sleep Mode. Upon opening later on, I was told that the cartridge had been removed, but I hadn't touched it.

It's somewhat scary. Hope Nintendo can pinpoint this problem and fix it in firmware soon.

However, I'm surprised that they didn't find these problems prior to launch.

ive had a weird thing happen with the sd card.

i put the card in my mac, and cant see anything on it. when i put it back in my 3ds, all the streetpass stuff is still there but all the 3ds photos have vanished.

this happens everytime i put the card in my mac. so basically i cant put music on it to test the visualisers, or backup photos.

dont have a pc so im a bit stumped! is the 3ds card formatting incompatible with mac osx?

No crashes but has anyone else had this problem. I had it in sleep mode after doing the update. Next morning I opened it up and all the menu animations were spinning fast as fook! Done it all day even after resetting. Stopped now today though.

I had that earlier, seems to be a mic problem (when you blow the mic the icons spin). Not sure how i fixed it, just went away after i opened and closed it a few times.

Opened the sound recording thing while it was happening as well and it picked up alot of static sounds, not sure what causes it though.

Had the same error yesterday, twice within 10 minutes. Wasn't in the middle of playing anything, I just had it sat on the home screen with Pilotwings in the 3DS. Hasn't happened since though.

I had that spinning icon problem too. I powered off and back on and it was back to normal. I thought at first the analogue stick had gone or one of the shoulder buttons. Didn't realize the mic controlled the spin speed

I've played ghost recon for about 6 hours, also got super monkey ball, SSFIV and Ridge and I've not had this problem with any of them.
