    E3 2011 Predictions

Yep, it really is coming around to that time of the year again when all the big companies come together to reveal all the games they'll later delay by up to 2 years. We're already seeing the schedules clear and the places at the Expo are all confirmed ready for the week where we frantically click Refresh as we're unable to keep up with the frantic rate of announcements and discussion.

So, the same as we had for last year, we begin early enough to make genuine predictions for what we expect to see at E3 before the inevitable run of leaks emerge. Make your predictions for what you think will be at this years show and before we start it should aim to be a realistic list to see how close we get... so no Shenmue 3 or Wii 2 stuff

    Let the discussion/predictions... Commence!

I'm really looking forward to Nintendo's show to see what games are lined up for 3DS. Hoping for a fair few announcements by then. Hopefully some e-store content too like demos for upcoming 3DS games! (wishful thinking )
Also looking forward to seeing more of the NGP from Sony.
I'm curious as to what Microsoft will show off other than Gears 3 and Forza 4.

Will be interesting to see how Modern Warfare 3 is holding up, I don't have very high expectations.

I've got a fair old theory about this years E3 but I'll type it tomorrow when I'm not typing via Dual Shock, lol. Speaking of, I predict this E3 makes me cave and stump up for that netbook rather than faff with the console browsers, lol

You do know that E3 is in June this year right?

        Nintendo won't announce a HD Wii. Sony won't announce a PS4. MS won't announce a new XBox.

Lots of emphasis on social gaming.

Square will delay FF13 Versus again.

I think this years E3 is going to be a big one, after reading possible NGP delays I think sony will show some good titles but no release date (saved for TGS)

I would love to see some new IP's from all the big ones MS, Nintendo, Sony

No HD Wii or any new console hardware (saved for 2012)

would love to see some updates to 3DS system, demos/vids/3DS store

My worst fear.....The Last Guardian slips into early 2012

          Capcom - Resident Evil 6

          Kojima - Metal Gear Next

Square - more FF13 Versus vids and playable on show floor

          its all very exciting !

            Sony:

NGP will be the highlight of the show for them. Due to the duel sticks, expect a ****ing **** ton of FPS's shown and announced for the handheld.

Sony will try to push 3D gaming, again, but no one will give a **** because you need to wear glasses.

They'll go on about how much more the powerful the NGP is over the 3DS.

After the above, they'll then go on to sales and how much units they've sold of the PS3. By that time the audience will be bored ****less and just want to see the games.

David Jaffe will still continue to act like a cock.

            PS3 price cut.

            Microsoft

Gears of War 3 will be shown and testosterone filled fanboys will hail it as the second coming.

            360 price cut

            More sales gob****e.

Forza 4 will be shown and how the game takes full advantage of Natal (**** Kinect).

            Nintendo:

            Wii HD won't be shown.

All Nintendo's efforts will be on the 3DS.

Nintendo will announce new Wii games sending the system out with a bang, thus paving the way for Wii HD next year.

            More sales gob****e.

            Wii price cut

Mario and Pikmin will be shown on the 3DS.

              My E3 predictions:

NGP delayed (as if it was going to appear this year anyway).

PS3 and 360 get a price cut and software updates for more social networking and multimedia twaddle.

More sequels/reboots/remakes. Although I wouldn't object to the rumoured Halo HD remake.

Lots of arm waving games including an MS funded port of Progear for Kinect!

iOS stuff to be everywhere at the show. Wouldn't be surprised if someone from Apple gets a keynote this year.

Duke Nukem Forever delayed to allow time for completion of Atari 2600 version.

American fanboys whooping loudly with little provocation.

Peter Molyneux promising the world (again).

Games I'm hoping to see: Gradius VI (developed by Treasure of course), Ibara Black Label, Gunstar Super Heroes XBLA, Truxton trilogy and Steven Pressleys Soccer Boss.

Lol, yep, but as with last year you can guarantee that before Easter weekend hits we?ll be hearing accurate news about what?s going to be there and this length of lead in worked well last year For my predictions:

                Microsoft
After last years fairly weak showing I?m expecting a stripped back presentation this year. However, I think it will still be the one of the three that comes up short as I expect Microsoft to take a second run up at the lucrative Kinect audience with a range of titles for the autumn window as they try to tap into the same surge they saw last year. Despite the systems weak position regarding exclusives at the moment I don?t expect them to address this, relying heavily on Gears, Forza and the Halo project 343 are working on to carry the system with the core audience. As with the other companies this year will hang heavily on price cutting with some kind of all in one Kinect based bundle being announced maybe with a white 360 S model to further evoke the Wii feelings. I?m guessing a ?50 drop in price point on average.

                Sony
This year I reckon they?ll focus incredibly heavily on the PSP2 showing a lot of titles for it and announcing it?s final name. I?m not sure if they?ll use E3 to announce a release date but if they do I?d expect December in Japan only with no price point announced. I don?t think they?ll announce much for the PS3, relying on showcasing known titles instead like Last Guardian, Uncharted 3, Resistance 3, Ratchet All 4 One and Twisted Metal. They?ll also announce a price cut for the PS3 to maybe ?225 for the higher end models and ?189.99 for the lower end ones. Xperia Play and maybe the rumoured tablet will show.

                Nintendo
Price cut to ?130 for the Wii with a new colour or two revealed as part of an Xmas push as well as a bunch of new titles made up with a translated known titles and cheap to produce games. Maybe a new Starfox but not an F-Zero. Despite the light nature of the systems presence I don?t expect this to be the Wii?s last E3 showcase with that coming next year instead. There won?t be much new with the 3DS, just more info regarding the upcoming software updates and a lot more info on the games coming to the system in the next 12 months.

                iOS
There?ll be a strong presence by devs at the event itself but largely it will go by unnoticed. Apple will never formally enter the gaming market so you won?t hear anything from them either.

                Third Parties
It?ll be the usual kind of stuff from them with the main disappointment being that Konami?s event doesn?t top last years epic.

I really expect this years E3 to be one of the most low key in recent history. There are no new hardware or accessory announcements needed or due and thanks to the heavy delays games saw last year I don?t expect we?ll get many surprises there either. Notable appearances might include a rejigged Driver: San Francisco and I expect COD8 to not appear in any form.

                  Nintendo
They'll push the 3DS, probably showing off more of the upcoming Mario game; release dates for already announced 1st party titles and introduction of "new" 1st party titles. 3rd party support spearheaded by famous franchises.
Zelda Skyward Sword will be shown, release date will be announced and hopefully will also confirm release for Xenoblade, Last Story and Tower of Pandora in the US.
                  Pie charts and family photos.

                  Microsoft
There's a new Halo in the pipeline, right? Kinetc-enhanced Forza Motorsport 4 and the new load of family-oriented Kinetc games. I wouldn't be surprised if they pitch some connectivity between Windos, the X360 and Windows Phone OS. Something by Square Enix.

                  Sony
Last Guardian shown, no release date. Kevin Butler. NGP with a new horrible marketing campaign. Killzone 4, 3D multimedia for the PS3, more detail on NPG/PS3 connectivity. Same Square Enix titles shown by MS, plus a couple more.

                  Aksys
BlazBlue Continuum Shift II for 3DS, PSP. Home consoles will receive new content for free.

                  Atlus
In-depth look at Etrian Odyssey 3DS, worldwide release date announced.
                  E3 won.
                  All Sting games localized.
Enough points to win the five next E3s.
They will publish all past and future X360 Cave shooters.
Release date for end of the world finalized.

Some of the most surprising E3's have been in years where no new hardware has been announced.

But yeah, I don't think this will be one of them.

I do expect a GTA5 announcement, and probably with a holiday season release date as well. The GTA games do traditionally only get announced when they're not far off completion. This will come in either Sony or MS's presser, depending on who stumped up the biggest money hat.

Might get to see some of the Tekken vs Street Fighter games, hopefully see a bit of Mario 3D.

                      Nintendo:

One new AAA game for the Wii, one or two filler B games. Skyward sword story trailer. Localisations of Last story and Xenoblade chronicles confirmed.

Lots of 3DS stuff, Mario 3DS trailer, Mario Kart 3DS, Animal Crossing 3DS, Metroid 3DS

                      No new hardware.

                      Sony:

Massive NGP blowout, big focus on Uncharted 3 and videos of all their upcoming stuff. A couple of new titles.

                      MS:

Probably a new Halo, less of a push for Kinect. Their conference can't be worse than last years.

                      Square-Enix:

The FF side stories, FFXIII-2 gameplay footage. Also, I give it a 50/50 chance of FFXV being shown. DQX to be unveiled at TGS.

A few 3DS titles and one NGP title.

                      Atlus

Lots of localisations, possibly a couple more incredibly lazy 3DS ports. Persona 5 to be unveiled at TGS.

                      Konami

Their press conference won't be anywhere near as entertaining as last years. Metal Gear Rising gameplay footage. Silent Hill footage.

                      Namco Bandai

Trailers of localisations of Tales titles.

Sonic turns 20 years old this year, and SEGA teased that celebrations will start as soon as tomorrow.

Kind of ties in with E3 as it'd be the likeliest place it's shown off properly. Rumours of a new compilation for the 20th Anniversary... Sonic Generations
