    Dungeon Siege III [PC/PS3/360]

I can't believe there's no thread for this.

It's out in June and there's a long old Quick Look EX up on GiantBomb.

More dungeon crawling/loot whoring itch scratching.

While local cooperative play only supports up to one other person, you can play with an entire group of four online. However, players who aren't the host for that session will be playing pro bono, meaning they won't be gaining any loot or experience for the characters in their game.

Makes no sense but maybe they can do something about that post release? It's not a deal breaker for me though.

I seem to recall Sacred 2 doing something similar now that I think about it. I'm likely to be playing it SP only anyway, but it would be nice if co-op were an option.

It actualy does make sense becuase its probabaly drop in co-op, and youd be able to enter a later stage of the game, collect awesome stuff and then take it back to your game if it saved it.

Its still crap if you want to play it properly with a friend, but it does actualy make sense as far as not letting you cheat the game goes.

Playing Sacred 2 at the moment and before PSN went down I joined other games just fine with my main character, took all my items with me too.

What most games of this genre do is impose a level limit which the host can set for players joining their game, so noone too high or too low level can join. In this one, going by the video in 45's post, you join at the level of the host and have to spend all your attribute/talent points each time. When you leave, you have nothing. I can't get my head around it, I can understand 1 of each class type per server but not this. Even obtaining higher level items in someone elses game would easily be countered by having minimum level requirements to equip them. I'd rather have that than no desire to join other games at all.

I'm really disappointed with this. I was fully intending to play this co-op with 2-3 of my mates and now they obviously won't, and I don't blame them. This is a ridiculous restriction IMHO. You could do the same thing with borderlands- who cares? I want to play with my mates not cry because they get an item at a low level (which isn't a problem with level requirements). I hope they patch this ****.

Yeah I don't think a limitation like this is warranted in a game like this. I could understand it if it was an MMO but it's a single player game, who cares if people want to boost their characters.

I was reading about this (can't remember where) and it said something about the levels and loot counting, but only on your save. So their progress is saved, just not if they go and play by themselves, which still makes zero sense to me but it means my mates will probably get it still since they'll only play if i'm on it with them anyways...

Not long until this is released, Zavvi have the limited edition for ?32, normal edition for ?36 (eh?). There's demos up on Xbox live I think, and the PS3 demo is up on the NA Store but not the EU one. It's pretty good I thought.
