    Wipeout 2048 (Vita)

Looks rather pretty. Apparently there's an embargo coming off today so we may see some hands on and videos.

What is Vita? Some kind of mobile phone probably, given the recent trend for everything to get released on a rubbish platform instead of a proper console.

Vita is the new PSP. Suppose that makes it PSV.

I bet both my balls we don't have tech like that in 2048.

Wipeout is one of the few games where I'll concede that it all hangs on whether it's 60fps

Not for me, the original PS1 games were running 30FPS and under for PAL and it was just as marvelous as the PSP Wipeout's Pure & Pulse.

Those screenshots look great, this could make me splash out on a NGP... Oh god, here it does again!

Looks like it's going back to a more grittier style of the first two PS1 games. They should get Designer's Republic back on board as well (well, whatever is left of them).

Excellent graphics. I love Wipeout too so this will make it harder for me to not buy a PSP2 when it's out because it will most likely be a launch game like Pure.

I just refuse to get one at launch because of the size of the thing, I think Sony specifically made the console large (even bigger than the PSP-1000) just so they can release a slim later on.

It's just too big in it's current size.

Well to be fair the PS1 era was not full of 60fps titles.

Looking pretty good so far. At first not so keen on the realistic visual stylings but it was never going to be anything else really. Do love a bit of Wipeout.

So I haven't read the previews fully yet (embargo seems to be up, RSS is going crazy) but:

And, of course, I can't forget our talisman, our ever present launch title - WipEout 2048. The way it demonstrates cross platform play between NGP and PS3 is very exciting.
                      Interesting.

It will be something **** like leaderboard progress or watching replays.

Nope, it's full cross platform online multiplayer on the Fury tracks.

Yep, cross platform multiplayer - http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/...onents-on-ngp/

Looks interesting. Going prequel could be a nice idea if it allows for a return somewhat to the roots of the series but I'm not sure that's going to happen. I like the idea of mixing old and new in the visuals but, so far, this seems to lack a sense of an actual style. I guess that could change. Still, ten new tracks and new Wipeout will make this a must-buy.

That looks beautiful. New tracks, new teams etc. so plenty of new content - hopefully there's a good chunk of the Wipeout teams involved.
