    E229: EDGE v4.0

Thanks to all sorts of research, we know that Edge attracts a varied readership. Some of you are in your 20s, while others have been playing games for over 30 years. Many of you make games or have designs on making them in the future, while many others don’t work in the game industry at all, and simply appreciate the sense of perspective found within these pages. The common thread that binds together all of Edge’s readers is a long-lasting, deeply ingrained passion for games.

With this in mind, it wasn’t too much of a stretch to plan out the fourth distinct iteration since the magazine’s launch, 18 years ago. After all, we have this long-lasting, deeply ingrained passion for games, too. In Edge version 4.0, then, you’ll find a selection of reviews and previews that go into more detail than ever before. Larger, better-quality screenshots, printed on the most expensive paper stock in the magazine’s history. More opinions from (with one possible exception) respected voices in the world of gaming. More insight. And Create, a new section dedicated to the stories behind the pixels which should be as interesting to dedicated videogame followers as it is to those who make the things we play. Naturally, despite these changes, there remains a dedication to editorial standards and integrity that has always been among Edge’s hallmarks.

Infamous2? (mumblegrumblemoan...subscription...) Ho hum, same score as Mortal Kombat I seem to remember? Which means I'll love it.

Please remember I'm not sure about the scores. I saw them quoted on rllmuk – may differ from true score!!!

I absolutely love the new design and the organisation of features. The magazine looks very modern, the paper is fantastic and I am intrigued by the review followed by the Post Script feature about the reviewed game.

Where's the iPad version? Stuff like Evo magazine on the iPad makes the dead tree editions seem archaic and overpriced.

Another 8 for Child of Eden. Fantastic. Roll on the 17th.

I am continuing to be hyped for El Shaddai and Child of Eden. Anyone know when this will hit newsagents? Wouldn't mind getting this to check out the funky fresh new design - agree that an iPad version would be nice though!

2 squ-en-dos covers in as many months, who's sleep with who here!?

What's the betting on a Deus Ex one next month!?

I can't wait to read the Child of Eden review, but from the videos I've seen it seems visually a lot to take in compared to Rez. Visually it's overload for me, but I have to buy it. Can anyone tell me if any high street retail chains will be selling it for a good price, or is online the best option-Amazon and Play is around ?30 I think?

I wouldn't be surprised to see it hit basement prices within the month.

Fair enough, I can see why that would be the case, but I want it on release day. Simply because besides Bangai-O HD and Deathsmiles Pal, this is one of the few recent releases I really want.

Oh, so that's why I bother with a subscription.

Every frigging month I get my copy days after everyone else. ****e!
