It will probably release with more exclusives than the last two Nintendo home consoles. The GameCube had 4, the Wii had 7 (or 8 depending on how you look at it), and the Wii U seems to be on track for 10 or 11.
Edit:
This is based on the lists available now, so a couple of those titles could easily come a month or two later.Last edited by JSR; 12-06-2012, 17:53.

What I was hoping for was that at least one killer title, not a large number of exclusives.
For instance, NES:
Super Mario Bros
Ice Climber
Excitebike
Duck Hunt
Donkey Kong Jr
SNES
Super Mario World
F-Zero
Gradius III
N64
Super Mario 64
Turok: Dinosaur Hunter
Gamecube
Wave Race: Blue Storm
Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
Luigi's Mansion
Wii
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Excite Truck
Wii Sports
- Admittably the list has got less impressive over the years, but even Nintendo Land isnt as appealing as Wii Sports.
We have the New Mario Bros for WiiU, for sure - however compared to Galaxy and Mario 3DS, the ''New Mario Bros'' WiiU addition looks like a stance backwards.
I just cannot get excited for the titles on offer - and compared to the releases of other Nintendo consoles, there was always at least one if not more that had me ready to buy the console day one. Here, im happy to wait.
- Not not talking about the launch window either, im talking about day one.

This is the official list of known games: (according to CVG)
- Assassin's Creed 3 (Ubisoft, Release: Holiday 2012)
- Batman Arkham City Armoured Edition (Warner, Release: Holiday 2012)
- Darksiders 2 (THQ, Release: Launch title)
- Game and Wario (working title) (Nintendo, Release: Launch window)
- Just Dance 4 (Ubisoft, Release: Launch title)
- LEGO City Undercover (Nintendo, Release: Holiday 2012)
- Mass Effect 3 (EA, Release: TBA)
- New Super Mario Bros. U (Nintendo, Release: Holiday 2012)
- Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge (Nintendo, Release: Holiday 2012)
- Nintendo Land (Nintendo, Release: Holiday 2012)
- Pikmin 3 (Nintendo, Release: Launch window)
- Project P-100 (working title) (Nintendo, Release: Launch window)
- Rayman Legends (Ubisoft, Release: Launch title)
- Scribblenauts Unlimited (Warner, Release: Holiday 2012)
- SiNG (working title) (Nintendo, Release: Holiday 2012)
- Trine 2 (Frozenbyte, Release: Launch title)
- TANK TANK TANK (Namco Bandai, Release: Launch title)
- Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (Namco Bandai, Release: TBA)
- Wii Fit U (Nintendo, Release: Launch window)
- Wii U Panorama View (working title) (Nintendo, Release: Holiday 2012)
- ZombiU (Ubisoft, Release: 2012)
Out of that list I count 10 definite exclusive games, however at least 4 of those are shovelware, and out of the 6 left there is only one game that is listed as 'Launch Title', which I would take as day one launch. The rest are either 'Holiday 2012' which I would take as within a month of launch, or 'Launch Window' which is within the first 6 months probably.
Not exactly an inspiring list ... If all of those 6 exclusive titles left were launch day with the machine, then yes that would be better, but at the moment it's only one. Out of the entire list there is only 5 Launch day titles at it is, which for a console launch isn't unusual, its just a shame that out of those Rayman Legends is the only one I would be interested in.

It frustrates me that im excited for Darksiders 2. Its a game i want to buy for sure, but i was happy buying that for the console i already own.
Same goes for the titles i havent played yet. Mass Effect 3, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, Batman Arkham City - All titles im desperate to play when time allows, but i dont want to buy a new console for them - im happy cheaper or pre-owned versions on my 360. Not what I want to buy a new console for, and not games i want to pay full price for now.
Pikmin 3 will be amazing - but not a launch title.
NintendoLands will be a lot of fun, much like Wii Play - but its not a game i want to buy a console for, nor does it appear as interesting with as much lasting appeal as wii sports. Obviously i'm in no place to say if thats true, however the impression wii sports left was far stronger than that of NintendoLand - and currently thats all i can go on as a consumer
Mario Bros Wii U will be as good as Mario Bros Wii i'm sure, but again, not what i would buy a console for. After Super Mario World, Yoshis Island, Mario 64, Galaxy, Mario 3DS, the 'New Mario Bros' titles seem like secondary mario titles.
I am the biggest Nintendo fanboy in the world - and seeing ports of other games as the excuse for ''gamers'' games makes me sad.
Fingers crossed for TGSLast edited by Adam Stone; 12-06-2012, 19:15.

After the videos I've seen, Nintendo Land appears to have loads more depth than Wii Sports. And I'm really itching for a cool same-room multiplayer game. It's way too rare I gather with friends for some frenetic living room multiplayer.
As for the multiplatform titles: I'm picking up a Wii U regardless, so I might as well buy the best versions of the game. The version with Gamepad features and Miiverse integration that is.
My launch list (though not all will be available at launch)
Definite pick ups:
-Zombi U
-Nintendo Land
-Assassins Creed 3
-Wii Fit U
-Pikmin 3
Probable pick ups:
-Lego City Undercover
-Mass Effect 3
-Darksiders 2
-Batman Arkham City
-Tank! Tank! Tank!
-Project P100
Possible pick ups:
-Rayman Legends
-New Mario Bros U
-Game & Wario

The more I think about it the more I get excited by the possibilities of WiiU. To the point where I'll not buy certain games like Aliens or Darksiders 2 until they are released on WiiU.
Saw a rumour that Black Ops 2 is coming to WiiU also. WIll be interesting to see if Nintendo's new "we love online" dtrategy makes things like decent match making and regular DLC drops a possibility.
As an aside:
It seems, no matter how much I love them, that Nintendo have always been one tech cycle behind MS & Sony. I know that tech isn't the be all and end all but:
With N64, it was all about cartridges rather than optical media which meant prices stayed high for games despite CD tech getting better meaning reduced load times.
With Gamecube, Nintendo said "people aren't ready for online" but Xbox Live proved them wrong and by the end of the GC's life online gaming was pretty huge.
With the Wii, Nintendo said "HD isn't important and market penetration of HDTVs isn't enough to make it a focus" but look at TVs now. You can only really buy HDTVs.
Just me?
I hope that this time around they don't forget something which, while seeming a bit "pie in the sky" now turns out to be a staple of MS & Sony next gen consoles which means Nintendo are once again seen as being behind the times.

The HDTV penetration isn't really a choice thing any more though - it's virtually impossible to not buy a HDTV.
The question I have is should Nintendo really be trying to chase the FPS / Action core market? Nintendo have succeeded through the generations because of their more unique and unrivalled offerings. I'm not sure that I want the three main formats offering the exact same sequels.

At the moment, if I get a WiiU at launch it will mainly be because so many games have been delayed till 2013 and it will allow me to get one under the TV before next year as no doubt some major games will come then and I'll have to save for a XB3 and PS4 then so it's more cost management than anything else. Out of the games announced I'd probably lean towards P-100, Pikmin 3, ZombiU and Lego City Undercover. Maybe NMBU if I'm really, really desperate for something to play on it.

A translation error was quickly denied by Nintendo: the Wii U won't use an internal HDD, but confirmed the support for USB units.
However, Nintendo also stated they won't drop friend codes entirely but the system will be streamlined...no, really, userID and password like any other service on the planet?
