The thing is they are walking into their own trap then. They don't seem to see this. With every knew attack its one step closer to lockdown on the internet.

Apparently the IMF was hacked, although that was apparently an attempt by a foreign power to put spyware in their network than any attempt to steal data.
Cyber crime, and cyber warfare are going to become political hot potatoes this year I feel. Expect to see a lot more high profile attacks in the coming months.
Interestingly, the UN have just announced that access to the internet is now to be classed as a fundamental human right, and have publicly called out countries that plan to put in place 'three strikes and you're out' policies. Like France.

The skeptic is coming out in me. These attacks have gone from some people claiming they're making a point to straight-up blatant crime. And, seriously, the consequences of which would mean the perpetrators would be risking massive jail time, especially in the wake of the current publicity. Why would anyone do that? If the world was suddenly shining a light on bank robbers and people were crying for blood, you wouldn't rob a bank. If you had been planning on robbing a bank, you'd lie low until it all blew over.
There are hackers now who are going to go down for a looooong time. As Flabio says, this is going to be a political hot potato. Examples will be made and it will be used as an excuse for all sorts of controls. All counter-productive from the point of view of hackers, even criminals looking for credit card numbers.
Something isn't ringing true for me.

All this is going to be used as justification for an interpol type organisation to internationally enforce cybercrime and promote more powerful extradition treaties.
Proxies would become useless if there was an international mandate requiring ISPs to give up logs to this organisation. You would be able to find someone behind a single proxy in a day and someone in a daisy chain would be found in weeks.

Well I am guessing this is how they got caught in the first place, if a gov't agency came over and said had over the logs or your an accessory/obstructing justice of course the logs where handed over even if it isn't true... would you argue? Yeah you may be holding it off for a few weeks but eventually it all leads back. Probably why they just swooped on some of the PSN hackers. I hope its worth it when the agency's whoever they are come kicking in their door - I am guessing it's not though.
