Anniversary of a Master of Unlocking

Yup, reminded by IGN's report on the anniversary party that was recently held for it, this year marks the 15th anniversary of the Resident Evil/Biohazard series. It's been a highly successful run that's seen moments of drawn out milking and extreme changes across the many, many games released.

Above is a general poll where by you can pick out your favourite entries (loosely anyway) which is a multiple selection one this time so click away

My fave bit is in Resi 4:

      "It's not a zombie"

Nemesis has always been my favourite one, mainly cause it actually had sensible movement controls.

          Evil 2 for me.

The sheer joy of seeing the intro & then wading through the game with gorgeous graphics, awesome Zombies & monsters, some choice scares.

Simply amazing I loved every second of it & still feel it deserves a proper remake like the first one got on the Cube.

Resi 4 is the best one, though the least Resi. It is just one amazing thrill of superb scenes and epic boss fights. I still love 1-2-3 though and the remake is superb too. Code Veronica is my least fav, still good but really difficult and very frustrating.

A special mention to Dead Aim. A surprisingly fun and fairly pretty action game.

I have said this before, but the first two were superb when they came out but now they seem a bit stodgy and don't stand up that well. Number 4 is a masterpiece of design and gameplayand one of my top games ever.

The Chronicles games got completely missed when I put the poll together, forgot completely about them so yup, should have been on instead of Gaiden. For REmake, it comes under RE1. There's all sort of Directors Cuts, and Extended versions so for ease they're all under the broader title, they're essentially the same game.

For me, I wasn't really a fan of Zero and though I enjoyed RE1 at the time I was never amazed by it due to it's heavy similarities to AITD with the REmake proving, to me, to be a gorgeous though inferior version.

RE2 though fan with the potential of the first game and I loved it with RE3 just being a massively fun expansion of it. For me the series, though mechanically dated, peaked with Code Veronica which was engrossing from beginning to end. Like others have said, RE4 is still sheer brilliance despite lessening the horror elements whilst I found RE5 to be a crushing disappointment.

I dont think its fair to lump all the Survivor games together as they are all crap apart from Dead Aim, which is actualy good.

RE4 is the best game deffinitley anyway, though I have to mention RE2 as well just becuase its the best old School Resi game by far.

Speaking of which, people have been on about wanting a remake of Resi 2 for a while... How about a 3DS remake? I'd buy it anyway.

I was obsessed with RE when it first came out, i knew that game inside and out. The point i could finish it in an hour and 20mins without saving. So much so I never even killed zombies, occasionally i would if i didn't have an option. I use to just run around them, lol.

                      I picked
                      RE
                      RE2
                      &
                      RE4

If i had to choose one, i would pick RE2 everytime. That game is almost a masterpiece and only RE4 managed to come close to it. It just had a great scope.

I'm surprised at the amount of love for CV, I always thought I was in the minority for loving it. As a game RE4 is probably better, but I have a soft spot for the classic RE gameplay. RE, RE2 and CV for me.

I was absolutely in love with CV back in the day, on release it was stunning looking and the story outstrips any of the other RE games

I'm more amazed that RE5 has votes, lol

CV is my fav too and the best in series in terms of cast of characters and a story that you can follow and where it makes any sense and also think RE 0 is vastly underrated by most

CV is the best game I ever played onthe DC if I'm honest
