League of Legends - Who's on it?

Any PC gamers here that have gotten completely sucked in to the digital crack that is League of Legends? I've been addicted to it for the last couple of months and I can't stop playing it.

I can imagine Fallows being a heavy player tbh.

For anyone that doesn't know what League of Legends is and has a semi-capable PC, go http://eu.leagueoflegends.com and educate yourself. It's a free-to-play variant of DoTA, with brand new champions, very regular updates, and a HUGE player base, so if you're into PvP games at all then go check it out.

Ive been playing around on it a bit with some old friends i used to game with on steam.

But right now I wouldnt recommend anyone getting started, the EU servers are a total mess and barely working.

Yeah they have been in a bad state recently, to be honest. I've actually been playing on US servers these last few days.

They usually aren't too bad though once you get past the initial login queue.

Is the community for this as bad as the one for DOTA? Easily ranks among the very worst I've ever experienced.

It's hit and miss. I've had games where the community has been on either end of the scale. When people call out missing enemies in lanes, and all gather up to help, then it's excellent. But then you get the people that are consistently feeding the enemy while telling you to l2p n00b lol and that just irritates the crap out of me.

You should have informed me about this game much earlier, you bast! I'm gutted I didn't start this time last year! I'm out of the loop over here, the only gaming friends I have are of the 2D fighter scene.

This is exactly my type of game, AND IT'S ALL I'M PLAYING FROM NOW ON!

I'll try DotA2 once it becomes F2P, I'm not paying for an early beta entry, but I imagine it has lots to catch up on with this.

I love Riot Games too, they really seem great at listening to the community, within reason. Just like Blizzard used to be.

Truthfully speaking, I was actually informed about it by an old WoW Arena team mate who was blowing up over it when it was brand spankers... However, when I heard the words "free to play" I bailed.

This may be free to play, but it's all kinds of excellence.

The art style threw me off initially, who wants pixie type characters mixed with human scale types? After a couple of matches I became all forgiving - the style seems a little 'Darkstalkers' with a Western touch.

Just last night I was going to suggest they add more responsiveness to targeting abilities by replacing the command-click with simply aim-command... Then I check the options and see that it's already implemented!! Smart Casting. The only way.

So, I just got invited to the DotA 2 beta... After getting myself, as well as three other work colleagues, hooked on this.

Decisions, decisions.

Also, Silvergun: We're facing lots of teams featuring melee-heavy comps such as Darius, Master Yi, Jax, Garen, etc etc. We have a solid comp featuring myself tanking (Leona), a couple of friends on melee, and other mid-solo ranged (Miss Fortune) although my tanking just gets evaporated in under a second before my team can do any damage to one of their non-tanks. Any ideas what to do? I'm tempted to just get us all to go dmg heavy and steam in, for now, until we hit ranked at lvl30 and hit a brick wall.
