EA Charging ?5 extra for a digital pre-order of SW: The Old Republic

It's understandable really, they need you to pay that ?5 so they can build up their stock of downloads in advance.

You'd better hurry and pre-order fast or else they'll run out of files for you to download!

?45 may seem a lot when it's ?10+ cheaper in stores but that bandwidth's expensive!

This will just be the old problem of the bricks and mortar stores saying they won't stock the title if the digital download version is cheaper.

Not sure even bricks and mortar would think of charging ?45 or an extra fiver to pre-order (not a deposit but actually making it ?5 more expensive).

Yeah. But finding 15 llamas and 100 garden gnomes on a friday afternoon isn't easy!

I told you. I'll sort out the llamas. You just make sure we've got enough gnomes.

Is this going to be popular among NTSC folk? Ive never, ever had an MMO before. Wondering whether to get this.

It's much more story focused than stuff like WoW and it was supposed to really revolutionise MMOs.

Previews are mixed though, hearing lots of reports that it's the same old WoW clone just more cinematic.

It is a deposit though, isn't it? Just so you don't cancel your order when you receive your pre order code.

Nope, it's an extra ?5 you pay for it. EA customer service people confirmed it.
