XBOX live credit card issues - possibly theft?

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, but could do with some advice - how do you remove a credit card from your xbox live account?

I purchased a 20% off year's subscription on xbox live in March, and MS took ?31 from my credit card. They've also been taking 5.99 a month since - and I've only just noticed. (yeah, I know...)

I can't delete my CC on either xbox live or the xbox.com web site. Obviously, MS are getting a crappy call in the morning, as will my CC provider.

    Any advice?
    Thanks
    Tony

Probably a mess up at MS end.....sounds like somehow they are also taking for the monthly payment option.

It sucks but on a positive note you'll probably get a load of free points/subscription for the cock up.

I had this once before too. It's the damn auto renewal kicking in and buying Live one month at a time.
Disgusting practice for a big company to get away with as you can't turn renewal off without phoning them up (unless they have recently changed it).

Whenever you buy anything off Live with a credit card it stores the card details. I remember one guy let his little kid on the 360 once to play some games and came back to find a load of games accidentally bought thanks to the stored card details.

I bought a load of the ?1 for 1 month deals a while back but I paid with paypal. I think they've got me on auto renewal now but can thay actually charge my paypal account?

I looked into the process of phoning them to cancel the renewal and it seems ridiculously complicated. Also when I set up my gametag I used a jibberish name and address so I'm not keen on repeating this over the phone.

The answer is that I created a dummy account ages ago, and renewed it in Feb with a month-free trial so that I could download some demos. What I didn't know was that auto-renew was turned on, and my cc was linked to the account, so I've been charged. Despite MS being able to see that the account hasn't been accessed since I created it, they're still insisting that I have to pay. They say they've deleted the trial, and removed my CC from the account - but I'll still be charged for this month.

Really angry and disgusted - to the point my current kneejerk reaction is to sell the xbox and spend no more cash with MS. I've no idea where else to go in terms of complaints.

So, a word of warning - check any account you have to make sure you have no CC listed, and auto-renew turned on.

You do know you can turn auto-renewal off the website now.

If you go for the yearly option, I believe it emails you in advance, giving you time to go to www.gamepointsnow.com or similar and grab something cheaper, so I've never worried about autorenew being on.
