i dont know if this has been asked already but whos getting one of these babies also what region are you gonna get jap/US or UK,i presume if you get an import version you wont be able to use the built in tuner

I am not getting one, but if in say 12 months time Sky team up with Sony for PSX to replace Skyplus I wouldn't say no to it. But again I already got new PS2 already.

No way, sounds like it's far too expensive. I might buy one of the new silver ones though. The DVD drive is starting to screw up on mine. Bloody Disk Read Errors...

I am "thinking" about picking up the US version.

But my desire and money will tell when the actual time arrives. I would love to get this as a Japanese version, since my Japanese PS2 is OLD (first series 10000 model) however, as pointed out the digital recorder would be near useless.

Furthermore, it appears the PSX works and looks best when standing up. Currently my entire entertainment system is set up for horizontal stands, not vertical.

I'm still thinking about it...since I am a collector, of sorts.

And I don't really much want another PAL PS2...

They haven't even said if they're going to release it outside Japan. The last I heard, it was pretty negative.

The jpn version seems like it will be useless outside of Japan. Apart from looking nice, of course.

I'd have gotten a Japan one on launch if it was going to be compatible with Sky, but due to Skys custom encyption its not going to be.

Heres hoping they team up with Sky to produce a UK version - I can't see Sky missing out on all those potential high spending customers (this is a ?500 unit) to Freeview.

If it doesn't then I guess I will have to wait for the PS3, as I guess this has a lot incomon with the non gaming parts of a PS3.

This raises an interesting point, what if the PS3 & the Xbox 2 are the same as this, meaning that you cannot use an import console as a PVR/Digital Tuner will you still import them?

Really? Which one? The only one I like the look of so far is the Pioneer, and thats a grand; i.e. twice what this costs.

Not half as ugly though I do need a new PS2 cus mines dying, but price is slightly off putting.
