Same here. Is very frustrating when you are about to play a Cube game and then you have to hunt for the Wiimote, get in a decent position for the pointer to work to select the game etc.

The current one seems to have an identity crisis and wants to try to be the Wii dashboard complete with annoying plinks and plonks. There are a few nonsense parts to it but mostly its much easier and smoother to navigate than the original blades. Also part of the issue here is that there is so much more content than the original blades where designed to handle.

I think they got it about right with their first iteration on the NXE though and all these new iterations are a step back, they seem to want to make it more simple in style for the casual market but its even more confusing than ever. I would rather this than the load heavy blades that creaked at the best of times.

I hate how the 360 restricts the types of video codecs I can play, also how basic the audio player is-it's pathetic that the PS1 had a better player.

The problem for me with 360 is that the most used parts for me which are games libary, friends and the bit to boot the disc always seem to too many clicks away from the default start position.(they shouldn't be, but I always manage to go in the wrong direction around the loop)

I do actually like the banners for new releases and videos being on the spotlight part but quite often I can scroll up or down in circles trying to find the correct block.
Once inside, I find the marketplace and other bits relatively simple to use and quick too, it's just getting there in the first place. I think they got a bit too ambitious with all the different categories on the home area.

As for the Wii, all I can remember was that it was so so so slow.

Ps3 the main menu does what it needs to but I would like it better if there was a bigger presence for new content. I'd also prefer it if the store didn't feel like a web page.
I don't like how jerky and slow the XMB goes when you bring it up in a game, feels pretty horrible when it pops up at what feels like 15Fps.
