Sorry, but I love my N-Gage

Only got the one proper game, Tomb Raider, whch while technically brilliant just isn't my cup of tea, but the Spectrum emulator is brilliant, Star Wars plays perfect which is good enough for me. I can play any Series 60 Java game, including a better version of Puzzle Bobble than the one for sale, and best of all is the media player, you can get a full music video on using less space than the same song in MP3 format.

Are there any other happy owners out there?

I have one as well. Love playing Tony Hawk in 3D on the go!

What's this Spectrum emulator you speak of?

Im interested, need to get rid of my 8210 and my mini disk is one awkward mutherfuker. I doubt i'll be gaming much with the ngage, but i must say Tomb Raider looks fantastic for a handheld game. If they get Pro Evo on it, im sold

I didn't like the N-Gage first because i played the bad games on it, but now with Tony Hawk, i'm almost sold

Hey, you're allowed to like it. I'll bet you'll be able to pick up some very cheap games soon. How do you load up the Spectrum emulator? Is it a licensed release, or do you have a flash card or something similar?

The GBA Tony Hawks games are better. The issometric viewpoint is far more suitable for the small screen and trying to do tricks on the N-Gage pad is a pain in the arse. Not that the GBA SP d-pad is perfect, but I do find it more easy than the original GBA's one.

I know the whole 'frisbee' criticism, and I'm fairly sure it has been inflated greatly to some respects, but N-Gage owners I ask you this; what's it really feel like to use as a phone? I imagine your hands, if you hold it firmly, cover the majority of the unit up - so the thing isnt as conspicuous as some would believe; is that correct? My fear would be the button mashing/screen smearing you'd get if you held it like that. And is the hands free kit that comes with it any good?

I've never gotten the hang of the GBA Tony Hawk games, as I just cannot get to grips with the isometric viewpoint.

I much prefer the N-gage Tony Hawk over any of the GBA versions.

I find the buttons/control on the n-gage no problem at all, even with Tony Hawk.
I actually like the D-pad better than the GBA D-pad, as it allows diagnal directions much easier on the thumb!

Buttons for Tony are as follows:

                    2- Grind
4- Flip trick 5- Jump 6- Grab Trick

So it's very easy to control, and I never find myself looking where the buttons are placed as 5 is raised.

Yep ur right about ur hand pretty much covering the whole unit.

The N-gage is about 1cm shorter Vert & horizontal than the GBA, and is not as thick and is far lighter.

Am I right in thinking you speak into the N-gage like this?

If so, Wtf? The things bad design continues to astound me.

Is Sonic a port of one of the Sonic Advance games, or is it an original? I imagine the lanky screen would be a bit annoying for platformers, they should've gone with a wider one like on GBA. I could only really see a screen like that coming in handy for puzzle games like Tetris.

Umm, do many of you also hold your mobiles at the edge with your fingertips? I'm sure if you held it with your palm against the side and your fingers spread over the rest of the unit you'd not like like such a prat

Had no idea you could get emulators for it, it has instantly risen in my favour now.
