PSN: Only On Playstation Network Promotion

This is better suited to the download forum though as less people fly that way I put it here as it might be on interest. Though Sony has confirmed most of the content will be coming to the EU store they are primarily pushing this as an October US PSN Store promotion

Sony has announced Only On PSN, a new campaign to promote PlayStation Network exclusive games throughout October.

Releasing exclusively on PSN this October will be:

    -Rochard
    -Eufloria
    -Sideway: New York
    -Okabu
    -Rocketbirds
    -Infamous 2: Festival of Blood
    -Pixeljunk Sidescroller

Additionally, this week will see the release of the PS2 Classics Range:

    -God Hand
    -GrimGrimoire
    -Maximo: Ghosts to Glory
    -Odin Sphere
    -Ring of Red

PSN+ members will get 20% off all these titles and any user who spends $60 or more during October on the store will recieve $10 credit in November. The PS2 range is very interesting...

It's a good downloads month. In addition to Crysis and Guardian Heroes these should be nice. I like the look of Sideway and Infamous 2: FOB. I can see me caving for Maximo and God Hand too

Sidescroller is a definite for me. Quite interested on Sideway New York too, last time I saw that looked pretty interesting.
Okabu is ringing a bell but for the life of me can't remember, is it the move game?
        Edit
Just googled it and aye I will be grabbing Okabu too.

I'm actually more excited about the downloadable PS2 games than the new PSN titles.. In fact, I can't believe it's shoved in there as an almost throwaway line in the press release.

It seems to go against almost everything we knew about emulating the PS2 on PS3 (i.e. the difficulties with a pure software solution with regards to emulating the PS2's Graphic Synthesiser). We knew from the PS3 jailbreak that a partial software emulator was in the OS but that it didn't run very well and I assumed Sony had given up on it.

The limited number of titles to be released suggests this is a more targeted style of emulation (similar to the Xbox 360's backwards compatibility) so they can sell the games that actually run well (which also means that there are likely to be titles that will never be emulated). Perhaps the games are being recompiled? Haven't Sony released dev tools that help with this for their HD collections?

Aww, just seen screens. I had been hoping this would be about two guys getting drunk on wine in the big apple.

Still looks lovely though. With the X360 getting Fez as an exclusive, I feel a bit better knowing PS3 owners are getting this.

On the US PSN Blog, they've confirmed that the PS2 releases are like PS1 titles and are 'as is'. So no trophy support

What's the chances that these have been given any kind of HD polish or spruce up?

I'm guessing not a lot but I'd certainly kill (again) for a HD version of Odin Sphere with the slow down removed.

                              Pretty much zero.
They should be as bare bones as the PS1 titles are with a few selectable 'filters' thrown on top.
