    Best RPGs on the GBA

Having the urge to get into a decent RPG atm but would prefer to play on the small screen.

Where’s the best place to start on the GBA.

Pokemon and Final Fantasy V/VI are obvious starting points, with Mario & Luigi up there too. What kinda stuff do you like? There are loads of great GBA RPGs

I mainly play the Zelda series (which is more adventure than RPG?) but wouldn?t mind getting into Final Fantasy (I never beat VII but enjoyed it greatly). Where?s a good entry point with FF? did they port the lot over from the SNES?

VI is probably easier to get straight into, it's simplified and closer to VII in that way, V has an epic job system though which really makes it awesome. You can get I, II, IV, V and VI on GBA, it's just III that's missing from the early lot.

There are a few Zelda games on GBA, Minish Cap is awesome if you've not played it before. LttP you've probably played.

I'm quite sure that there's not a Suikoden on the GBA. There's Suikoden Tierkreis on the DS.

I second FFVI, Zelda: Minish Cap and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. They are all fantastic games and should keep you busy for quite some time.

If you don't mind the hassel of sorting it out, then Mother 3 is good. FF VI and FF IV are sublime on the GBA. I'd skip V personally!

Yes you're right. No Suikoden, it is DS.

If you want a touch of Nintendo Superstar saga is the best bet but if you are looking for something a bit more traditional i think Golden Sun is the best option

Settled on Final Fantasy I and II Dawn of Souls.

Enjoyed what I’ve played so far and I recognise one of the wizards from Final Fantasy IX - Zidane?

Looked around for Golden Sun but the price was a little high. Definitely one I’ll be picking up in the future.

                        Vivi

That mage costume has been a constant through all the FF games until they went more realistic

                          That?s the one.

Have to say, they certainly drop you in at the deep end without much explanation in the first FF. I?m currently up to the point where I?ve rescued the princess, killed the pirates and captured a boat. Someone mentioned something about a cave on the west coast so that'll be my next stop.
