For the first time in a long time, no game won more than 1 award. Does that mean it was a poor year, or that there was a good spread of quality titles? I'll let you decide...

Me? Shouldn't someone else have some input into that too?
I haven't played enough this year to really know how I feel about the winners. Like my gut tells me there is no way Fallout New Vegas should be in there but then I hadn't played the competition so I can't really say. No real stand-outs though. Assassin's Creed? Really? I don't know.

I assume this covers games released from around Summer 2010 to this Summer right? A lot of the big hitters for 2011 are only very recent or not even released yet so it does look rather lacking in those awards, plus I can't think back to what was out last Winter.
Probably a few games missing that I would have included like Dead Space 2 and Donkey Kong Country Returns but apart from them there hasn't been anything outstanding until Forza 4, Xenoblade Chronicles and Batman AC.

I'm no fan of awards shows, but I'm really happy to see Mortal Kombat win best fighter. After the mediocre Marvel vs Capcom 3 and the crappy Arcade edition add on for Super Street Fighter 4, Capcom didn't deserve to win this year.
Mortal Kombat has been my most played fighter this year and for me it's the best game of the year so far full stop.

Indeed, there's a lot of really lazy choices. Angry Birds sounds like it got the award because it's the only mobile game they'd heard of, it's good but there are literally 200 better mobile games from the last year. Guitar Hero must have been the only music game out last year if it won that, just ditch the award, it's pointless. And Minecraft came out in 2009, it seems like they just wanted to acknowledge it so screw little details like that. Harsh on all the download games that came out this year.

Speaking of awards did anyone ever complete the NTSC-UK Game of the Year 2010 info. I remember the arguments about which year certain games actually fell into but don't remember there being a final thread detailing our votes. Couldn't find it on search but then I rarey find what I want on there (due to being a chod as opposed to search limitations probably). Or was it, in the end, just a case of not being arsed to collate it?
Anyone remember or know?
