Ebay only at the mo' I'm afraid.

Conflicting reports on Line of Contact (i.e. if it will come with one).

And of course, I'm not entirely sure if Line of Contact is simply a Live update of the old one.

I suspect that they'll manufacture some more. And possibly produce a non-controller version and a controller version

Otherwise, think of it this way:

No. of people who will buy the sequel = No. of people who have an Xbox AND Live AND a peripheral you can't get for love nor money except Ebay.

And the only way you could make that work financially is if the games uses people's XBoxes to host games.

Capcom would be idiots not to re-release the original in huge numbers. The demand for Steel Battalion is still huge.

I read today that LoC will be released with the control deck and on its own. Not sure how true that will be but it's good news

They are re-releasing the original Steel Battalion (with controller) when Line of Contact comes out.
