Must.. Resist.. Urge... To... Go... On... A... Multi... Page... Rant... As... To... Why... This... Game... Is... So... Good.

I've not played ICO for ages now, (letting the experience of playing it stew), but I do it so.

Finished. Complete. Ended. Over. Not nice. Not happy.

What an absolutely charming, yet ultimately bleak (almost cursed), tale that was. Was it the storytelling, the imagery, the aural affect (sic), or a combination of all? Perhaps it wholy depends on the character that lets it unfold? An emergent property that imbues the viewer, thus making for a reluctance to let go when the credits come to pass.

Utterly embracing and completely spellbinding. Majestic views, distant woods, hidden courtyards and the ever present fear that the shadows themselves may come to take away the innocent life, perfect in its every footstep.

            Bumpzilla...

I played ICO for the first time last night, so I'm VERY late to the party. I was pleased to discover all the hype & fanboy-ism that surrounds it was entirely justified. Beautiful game.

I'm jealous... I'd love for there to be a game that beautiful nestling undiscovered out there for me...

At the moment I'm so bored I'm buying up 3DO pr0n titles.. There must be a name for my condition.

I tend to have a buy now, play later mentality with some games, so I've still got Katamari Damashii and a host of other gems still waiting for me to play them for the first time...

I bought this from the trading folder, can't wait for it to arrive so I can get stuck into it

I originally bought it from the Trading Folder last year but never really got into and sold it on. But I was fortunate to pick up a copy from Game for just ?14.97 with the art cards and manual all intact but the main box a bit dog eared and some heathen has both stuck an unremovable sticker on the front and written in red pen over the barcode But it was fairly cheap considering what it usually goes for so I am willing to give it another shot and on the plus side ICO is one of those games you can normally sell on for the same price you bought it for if you ever want to get rid of it.

I'm another one who somehow hasn't yet played this. Didn't have a PS2 when it came out and never got round to picking it up when I got one - until now (from Trades forum). After reading the rave reviews over the years, I have high expectations of it. I'm glad it's not a mammoth 60-hour-athon either... had enough of them recently.

Finally got the game and finished it today. it was a bit short, but every second was enjoyable.

i like the way they went for low rez + anti aliasing, for a very soft dream like appearance. the light blooms were great, the graphics in general top notch, soooo atmospheric.

also, i LOVED the fact there was no health bar, inventory, nothing like that. the game needs no explanations at to what to do. you are tought all u need to know the first time u pull her out of a shadow.

such a refreshing game to play. still cant get over teh atmosphere. from the bright sun flooded areas, green grass and flowing water. to the cold, shadowed areas and the dark rainy end. the save menu music is still going through my head.

it really goes to show u dont need a million buttons and HUD bars and item slots. a simple idea, well implimented, provides a far better gaming experience.

i really hope nintendo pull this sort of thing off with revolution.

On the subject of a sequel. I hope not, however the ICO's world is filled with wonder and unanswered questions which could be exploited, perhaps multiple stories and characters converging back at ICO's storyline...The big reveal.

Shadow of the Colossus may go some way down that road I hope

Question for those of us who have played the game through more than once....

Has anyone so far been able to complete the last section, from the cave all the way to killing the witch queen, without using a continue?

Just wondering if it changes, or adds anything. It certainly looks desgined that way!
