Think of this as being like the First Play forum. However, what we're looking at here isn't your thoughts on what your currently playing and also not for any games that came out a while back and your catching up on now. What we're looking for is for you to cast your mind back to a game you played weeks, months or years ago and to give a write up on your thoughts of the game.
In a single year there are tons of titles out vying for our money and attention and I, personally, can even forget that I've played some games or that they were released this year. Is there a game that over time you've kept thinking of and your opinion has improved or one that you liked but as time goes on your thoughts sour on the experience?
To start us off I'll begin with:
Dead Space 2
This ranks in there as one of those 'completely forgot I played it this year' titles. It played really well, though with the passing of time it strikes me as generally quite an underwhelming sequel. I did really like it at the time but it lacks the imagery of the first game, the sense of claustrophobia and scares. The attempt to place in more dynamic action feels like a wrong step as it took away the sense of dread which is why I feel like it's slipped out of my mind. It reused assets too readily too. A victim of only a few months.
