    Alan Wake: Night Springs

UPDATE: GameInformer's Jim Reilly just Tweeted, "Quick clarification re: Alan Wake VGA announcement: It's a standalone …

Not the actual name (I'll amend once confirmed). On Monday a new stand alone download game in the Alan Wake series is set to be announced at the VGA event.

I'm well up for this, loved the first game.

Loved the 1st game, but its pretty **** news it's going to be a XBLA title and done of the cheap compared to a standard full budget AAA sequel Retail game .

XBLA + Remedy X Alan Wake = Take my Allards.
Of course it's **** news that Remedy are even bothering bringing back the flop that was Alan Wake, via a different distribution method I mean XBLA yuck. Also I hear the average games dev cost for an XBLA title is between 76p and ?16.98 tops, only true AAAA titles reach that maximum ?20 budget.

Got up on the wrong side of the bed did we . Looking over the XBLA 2 gig limit which for starters will meant the game won't be as big as the Disc based version, I would imagine there's a reason why all the major releases come on disc rather than on XBLA or PSN but there you go .

Sigh, I didn't wake up on wrong side of the bed I just get these moments when I read things and I just think Jesus what a twat, your comment was one of them, don't feel singled out though loads of people on here do it including myself.
Now then did you know the superior retail edition of Alan Wake that you played is 2.41gb of game data excluding FMVs?
I even have facts and everything.
Remedy's Alan Wake features just 2.41GB of actual game data for all six of its in-game episodes.

Well seeing as the Cut Sequences made up a large part of Alan Wake game to me and help draw me into game the story and the characters that is a Huge loss for starters . You're really going to tell me that MS or Remedy is going to spend as much money, lavish as much time on a XBLA release to that of what it would have spend on an Retail disc sequel ? Remedy and Alan Wake (the game) deserved better and I don't need your rants, making out otherwise

I would have been made up if we were getting a full and proper retail based sequel to what we have now; Sure I'll end up buying it and its more Alan Wake that is a good thing, but its still a disappointing news 'for me' just like it would be if sequels to Mirror Edge, Ninja Gaiden II, Enslaved, Castlevania LOS were all XBLA/PSB based - Sure it would be good news that we're getting sequels but you know deep down the produce values wouldn't be anywhere that of a Retail sequel

It is ok to have that view, or do you want my Allards ?

Hey if Remedy lavished as much time on this xbla release as they did the original game we wouldn't be playing it til about 2018.
You metioned that Alan deserves a full AAA sequel but we don't know if that's gonna happen or it may already be underway, the plus side to this announcement is they haven't forgotten Alan Wake as a series.
And yes I will allow you to have that view since you said you were gonna buy it, that's the only reason though.
