which is best for multi format titles(360 or ps3)

There literally hundreds of games on Xbox live many of which are brilliant and exclusive to 360. Many people will agree that's where the console really shines as there are only a handful of exclusive boxec retail games on both systems nowadays.


You can pick up a 360 this time of year in some cracking deals and if you just fancy giving the Downloadable titles a whirl, every single game has a downloadable demo and you can pick up a basic 360 for ?100.

Both consoles have their pros and cons really, but when it comes down to the games themselves, the multiformat games are so close it's Almost always irrelevant.

If I were to get just one console for online gaming, I'd go 360 - Live is a doddle, and I prefer the pad for FPS titles.

If I were to get just one console for exclusives, those on the PS3 appeal far more to me than the 360.

Being a gamer, I own both consoles. Problem solved



I find myself going 360 for multiplatform games due to the social aspects of Live. But I have more exclusives on the PS3 and find the content more varied than the 360. A man can only play so many first person shooters, lol.

360 all the way for me. I prefer the pad (by a long way), the dashboard, Xbox Live over PSN, achievements over trophies and generally the exclusive games like Halo and Forza over Resistance and Gran Turismo. The Uncharted games are fantastic though.

On a side note I hate the way it seems like every time I turn my PS3 on there's an update to download that takes about 15mins to download and install while the 360 seems to update itself in under a minute

I'm Sony's bitch so most of my gaming is done on PS3 i prefer the DS3 too. These days, however, there's very little difference for "normal" gamers to tell the difference.

There's the odd title that slips through the net though; FFXIII on 360 or Bayonetta on PS3 for example.

I don't play a whole heap online so the Live / PSN side of things doesn't really bother me though I like being able to pay with actual cash rather than M$ space bucks.

As Flabio said, ive already got both systems but just wondering which system I should opt for when buying the multi format games. So ive got a chance to buy COD modern warfare 1 & 2, so was wondering which is the 'better' version in terms of graphics,control etc

I think I might opt for the 360 for the multi format buys and leave the ps3 for ps3 exclusives. My brother does have a 360 and when I see him on LIVE and the social aspect it seems to provide with things being more streamlined.

I just basically wanted to know that for those who have both systems, which system do they choose to buy the multi format stuff and why. If it was because their main gaming circle had a particular system then obviously it make sense for them to buy it on that format. But if there were other reasons,then I would have been interested to know,like say the online aspect of one system,or controls etc.

The only multiformat games I buy on the PS3 are games that have multiple disks on the 360, I hate swapping disks.

As people have said, these days both versions of a game run more or less the same with a few odd exceptions and even then its nothing compared to, say, how bad PS2 versions of games use to be in comparison to the Xbox. Missing levels and framerates that ground to a halt on a regular basis seemed to be commonplace with multiformat games on the PS2 but theres nothing like that goes on anymore on either console, so it rarely matters which version you get.

any chance someone can compile me a list of 360 exclusive must haves. and then another list of multi format must haves. Its just that if I have a list to work off,then any of those games I come across which are cheap,then I can snap them up. Normally,I'll see a game and by the time ive checked the reviews etc,its gone....

again,everyones help is much appreciated as I know these list-me-do type of threads can be monotonous.

GT5 is pretty good but a lot of people prefer Forza 4, which is a 360 exclusive.

Other good PS3 exclusives are:

Resistance 1,2 and 3
Killzone 2 (and 3 but its not as good)
The ratchet and clank games
God of war 3

Besides Forza the 360 has a few good exclusives, though they require you to like shooting things becuse they are nearly all either third and first person shooters (Halo and Gears of war) or bullet hell shmups by cave (Dodonpachi Resurection was released over here recently and it's incredible).
