    Most anticipated games of 2012

There's still a good six weeks left in 2011, but as gamers who are always looking for new experiences, one has to start thinking about the next year and all the great games it will offer.

Which 2012 titles are you most looking forward to? The year starts with a bang with games like Final Fantasy XIII-2, Soul Calibur V, Twisted Metal, Syndicate, Street Fighter X Tekken and Mass Effect 3 plus it will also see the launch of a whole new console when PSVita is released in North America and Europe. Later we will see much anticipated titles like BioShock Infinite, Borderlands 2, Diablo 3, Halo 4 and (possibly) Grand Theft Auto V.

For me there's one game that really stands in a class of it's own and it's GTA V. As a huge fan of the series I can't wait to hear even small new tidbits of information on it. Other games include Mass Effect 3 which I hope will deliver an epic conclusion to the trilogy and Prey 2 with it's cool Blade Runner-like atmosphere.

So, what are others waiting for?

Not announced but I'm expecting metal gear solid 5 next year. Other than that I don't know. A huge backlog to get through so I don't care if no games come out in 2012.

      For me?
Hitman absolution, although I don't think it will ever beat the sandbox assassination sim that was blood money, but I'm looking forward to it none the less.

Mass Effect 3. Thinking about the epic story and music of the last 2 games literally makes me smell nostalgia, the closest feeling I can get to the feeling of Christmas as a child.

Syndicate looks really cool and I love star breeze's previous efforts.

Metal Gear Rising should hopefully pop out 2012 along with the pal MGS HD collection.

The tomb raiser reboot looks to come back And give Uncharted a run for its money.

Right now my most anticipated is Mass Effect 3.

Beyond that, I'm keeping tabs on Soul Calibur 5 and Street Fighter vs Tekken.

Longer term the Tomb Raider reboot, and a potential Assassins Creed 3, will probably grab my attention.

E3 should also be a doozy this year, could be one of those landmark years we remember for ages.

          The Last Guardian.

I mean it's a Ueda Fumito game, and that man is a proper genius. I am very excited to see his new work and how it ties in with his other works, since ICO and Sotc both are tied together also. Other than this nothing really, I plan to buy a 360 for shmups (ikaruga, radiant silvergun, REZ, Mushihimesama futari).

Alan Wake Night Springs, can't wait to revisit Mr Wake.
New Tomb Raider looked quite interesting.
            Aliens Colonial Marines.
            Darksiders 2
            Syndicate
            SSX
            X-Com
The Witness, will make it to PC at least.
Trials Evolution, have this odd feeling that it may become a retail title now UBI are involved.
            Max Payne 3

I'm sure more will creep up, loads of xbla an pc point n clickys for me too.

Bioshock Infinite's the biggy for me. Binary Domain and the Euro release of Ninokuni are also day one-ers.

I'm stoked for The Last Guardian too...but the release date's still mysterious and I could even see it being a 2013 game.

I'm also very interested in seeing how Syndicate and X-COM turn out, after all they are old, classic PC franchises which have been turned to FPSs for the mainstream market. Forgot also to add Max Payne 3, it's good to see Max back even though he's not a Finnish hero anymore.

Edit: Gah! How could I have forgotten Ni no Kuni's English release? Definitely one of my TOP 3 games next year!

As per usual I'm looking forward to more fighting games, namely Street Fighter Vs Tekken and the new Soul Calibur. Apart from that I haven't really looked at a whole lot of other games, but no doubt will find something else that I like the look of in due course.

Ninja Gaiden 3. That's the only game I'm really looking forward to. Hopefully it lives up to expectations.

Everything else can wait untill I've cleared some of my backlog.

I forgot about Ninja Gaiden 3. I love the series BUT I do have reservations based on what I have seen so far. Even though I will most likely still enjoy it, even if it isn't up to the standards of the first two games (in the rebooted series).

Well, I don't think there's been enough announced for 2012 yet. But certainly there's a few titles I'm looking forward to namely:

                        Bioshock Infinite
                        Darksiders 2
                        Soul Calibur V
                        Street Fighter x Tekken
                        Tomb Raider
                        Last Guardian
                        Metal Gear Solid: Rising
                        Ninja Gaiden 3
Ridge Racer Vita (assuming your not getting a Vita this year...)
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (assuming your not getting a Vita this year...)
                        Gravity Daze
                        Escape Plan

But none of those for me are as big as Mortal Kombat, Batman and Uncharted this year, aside from maybe Last Guardian...

There's still much to be announced and I expect something else big from Sony maybe a God of War or that forever rumoured Syphon Filter...

The Last Guardian and Bioshock Infinite interest me. The first because I love both Ueda games and the latter because it just looks so damn interesting, even though I didn't really enjoy Bioshock.
