Will be interested to see what they're doing with this. One of my favourite game series when I was younger, despite finding some of them rock hard (that hawk/eagle on Fantasy World Dizzy was tough, especially on the C64 version!).

Exciting news! Glad to see the egg fella making a comeback.
Favourite game of his for you guys? Prince of the Yolkfolk here for the classic stuff and Bubble Dizzy from the miscellaneous section.

Probably the very first one for me (had a dark, mysterious theme to the world compared to others in the series, which made it all the more intriguing). Lots of secret tunnels/caverns to uncover on the way too. If we're talking non-standard Dizzy titles though, then probably Kwik Snax (Spectrum 128k version). Great soundtrack to that one aswell.

Can't agree with you on Bubble Dizzy I'm afraid, thought that was the worst in the series! Found it generally frustrating and unrewarding to play.

Still play all the dizzy games to this very day, use a fantastic emulator for them on my DS, not sure if i could cope with a new one with jazzy graphics as im used to seeing him blend into the background as you walk past various colours thanks to the speccy graphics. Spellbound dizzy is my fave followed by magicland. Some of them are pretty challenging even now, treasure island is not that bad even if it is harsh with it's one life, you just damn well make sure you don't mess up finding the gold coins was a bugger though thats for sure.

Scuttlebut has this as an iOS version of Prince of the Yolkfolk.

It looks like the new Dizzy game Codemasters teased this morning is in fact an iOS port of 1991 effort Dizzy: Prince of…

I guess we'll find out soon enough.

It won't be anything more than a port of an old game , I'd be very surprised if it was even and HD remake.
There is no way after the flop that was bodycouny it will be any kind of retail title

Well, now that some info's slipped out, from what I gather it now scrolls between screens rather than switches, and has had an overall lick of paint.

                    Woop.

It's been pretty much done for a while, just needed the rights ironed out, what with Codies and the Olivers all wanting to claim some kind of ownership.

And, um, yeah. That's about all I know.

Sigh. Dizzy deserves better than ending up on iOS with terrible touchscreen controls. This should've been a remastered pack of the series on Steam.

Was really excited about this till I saw the iOS bit, had been hoping for PSN/XBLA/Steam. Real shame.

I'm still holding out hope for PC announcement, as it stands being an iOS im gutted cause I don't have a device to play it.
Means I'll just have to find my copy of the big six and play them again.

Dizzy is hardly a fast paced series, there is no reason that it shouldn't work as an iOS game.

Not sure why everyone is complaining really.
