Time to reignite the actual thread.
    Play.com have priced Vita games.
Online shop Play.com has gone live with PlayStation Vita launch game prices and made games available to pre-order.

44.99 for a handheld uncharted? I expect it to be in line with handheld gaming. More like 2.99 please.
    Check out the comments.

      It's the future.
I guess games of that visual quality are going to cost in excess of what last gen's games would of cost to make.

Either that, or the games have cost muchos and they know that as a launch title they are only going to sell a few , so they've bumped the prie up.

I'm sure that is paving the way for future game pricing of the home consoles

"I just bought GTA 3 on my iPhone for ?2.99. What makes Uncharted worth ?37 more?"

Errm, becuase its not 10 yars old, its not on your phone, it cant already be bought for about 2 quid on the PS2, and its not a digital download only game?

Price is too high, but it won't stay that high as people aren't going to pay that. Still, have to roll eyes for comments like this:

Vitarded is my fave comment there and will no doubt enter the lexicon of any Vita related bashings.

45 quid is whey too expensive though, PaTaito has it right around ?25 is a sweet spot, I however have definitely been spoiled by the app store and can no longer find console game prices palatable, despite the obvious.

Bar the odd exception, I almost always wait for the price to drop nowadays. The quality of games today is higher than it's ever been but, when it comes to imagination, most seem severely lacking, and I don't really wanna spend ?40 on a game that, bar the odd refinement, odd inclusion and fresh lick of paint, I've played before.

I think handhelds games should be max price ?30.

I remember the golden days of getting excited about going for a new gameboy game at toys r us...

Games never exceeded ?29.99, and i'll never forget my dad saying in store on my 10th birthday that if it was anymore we may aswell be buying snes or megadrive games instead.

Vita is almost 360/ps3 quality but its funny that even new 360 releases are ?32-?37 depending where you get them. ?45 is having a laugh.

Horde mode is where its at...get a good group together and you can play for ever without getting bored. Well I can
I much prefer co-op games online as I dont have the time/patience for VS. Gears 3 and Burnout Paradise are the 2 reasons why this gen is the best for me since the SNES days!

For the first time in ages I am waiting on buying a handheld. I bought the GBA, DS (but not every iteration of it), PSP and 3DS on launch day. This time I am determined to wait until early 2013 for a PSVita. Hopefully by then there will have been a price cut and lots of launch games available on budget labels and / or second hand.
