best COD black ops map packs (DLC)

Really getting into this and was wondering from those who have tried all 4 DLC map packs, which is best and why?

not going to buy them all and I am not that interested in the zombie map packs

Resurrection is entirely zombie maps so you can give that a miss. Off the other three I only have two - First Strike and Annilation.

While they are both good I find a couple of the maps in First Strike a little iffy. Stadium is really very small, borderline MW3 sized and while it works great if you have a good team, if you've got idiots they will keep switching the enemy spawn causing a lot of getting shot in the back and losing map dominance. Berlin Wall is also a touch badly paced as it's split into two discrete areas and it's easy to end up on the complete wrong side of the map from the battle. Each side is also predominantly building fighting so it's often a long run for a very quick duel, with little scope for locking down the map.

Annihilation on the other hand is absolutely fantastic and has the best maps in the game in my opinion. Hazard is set on a picturesque golfcourse and was built for assault rifles and snipers. Three solid paths with great interconnectivity and plenty of little bits of cover. It's the tactical player's dream with just the right number of angles and paths. Hangar 18 provides another tight, focused yet ample sized map with 3 main routes and slightly more interlinking, SMGs are much more usable here and there's a nice degree of buildings providing a more thoughtful edge for those not running with Ghost (Pro). Drive In and Silo are also truly great maps.

I would say Annihilation is a must but First Strike is far less essential.

Out of the three main multiplayer map packs they did the second one is clear and away the best offering some of the better maps in the whole series. Not sure on the name though, might be Escalation. First Strikes maps are somewhat forgettable and the third map pack is pretty lazy with some small generic layouts and a World at War reskin in it.
