Well, If SNK sell enough of them we'll hopefully see Garou 2, Baseball Stars 3, and Fatal Fury 4.

And I'm really glad I sold off those huge AES cases, who needs that when you can scale them down to the size of an SD card? A great piece for collectors, no doubt.

I've got three on the way, plus six sticks.

Happily they already made Fatal Fury 4 along with 5,6 and 7.

It's a real shame the machine has turned out to be such a disappointment, a real missed opportunity. Had the emulation been perfect I would still pick one up, as fairly soon they'll be hacked to run any rom, but i've seen too many negatives now.

TBH portable Fatal Fury Special was the only reason I wanted to buy one. All the real world talk I've heard about it has put me off now. If they release FFS on Neo-Geo Station, I'll be all set for 600 yen.

Get an Xperia Play and get emu running on that. It does me perfectly. My phone is still mainly used as an emu device, with it being a portable browser second, and video player third.

FFS all the way up to Garou, SF2 all the way up to SFZ3... and everything in between.

Mines is still on the way, and im still looking forward to i. I'll post my honest opinions when i get it, and lets not judge it till you played it, if its good enough for the Ninty WiiU thread, the same conditions apply here.

Not really the same though is it? The WiiU is a proprietary device with some proprietary software. This is essentially a packaged emulator that's been around for years with roms of games we've all played in one form or another countless times before.

It's not that it is an emulator that bugs me, it is more that it is an emulator that doesn't appear to work properly. At least when Sony created the PS1 classics for PSP, they made sure that every single game they were charging for was 100% flawless.

What irks me is that it uses an emulator that has been freely available for years and developed by someone else. It isn't something genuinely made by snk playmore, thats my main issue with it.

In fact, given that the licence for the emulator is very similar to the GPL licence in that it requires Blaze to release the source code for the modified emulator, which I don't think they have, this device could be technically illegal.

Mini Review: I'd recommend a PSP for most people, hacked, with ROMs on. I have one of those. I wanted one of these because I just like the idea of it, and IMO, it delivers.

It's well built and I was playing metal slug on my TV last night, and a load of other games I've never played before, with a lovely arcade stick, to boot.

I couldn't tell you if the games were arcade perfect, so YMMV. I'm not about to start collecting carts any time soon - tiny apartment in Tokyo.

The stick is amazing. Reminds me of my little Neo Geo Pocket Color - which I loved dearly. I still have one knocking about somewhere with the DC connect cable. The buttons are all great, and the sound is superb. Much better than my PSP (never liked the analogue stick or Dpad much).

It's expensive, but over the next few days I will have saved that same money by not taking the train into work every day (finally a holiday in Japan).

And as I have said in other forums, I think that the iPhone is a massive waste of money. Opinions are subjective, anyway. I am glad this exists, as it's a neat little idea. It's not cheap, but neither is raising children, and lots of people have them.

I'm gonna make the PC Engine GT 2. It's a cheap Chinese handheld with a PC Engine emu on it but I put it in a cool shell that looks like a PC Engine GT but with a totally inappropriate 16:9 screen. Oh and it comes in a box that looks kind of like the box the PC Engine GT came in.

It's ?250 but it's totally worth it, it comes with 20 games. Not the games you want though, they'll be coming later for ?25 each on SD cards. Get your preorders in now folks! This one's gonna be a sellout item!

SH4R4KU, does the Japanese version have a Japanese BIOS? Do Metal Slug and Shin Samurai Spirits have blood? Is it called Spirits or Shodown?

I'm doubtful as it has FCC and CE markings, but no VCCI marking. It suggests that the unit is the same the world over.

It is ?160, or whatever, it is the price of a Saturday night out. Who cares for that money, it looks nice on the shelf. Not for me, but I get it.

Where do you go out on a Saturday night? I couldn't even blow that on a Saturday night out in Amsterdam inclusive of weed, meal, drinks and a hooker. Well, it would probably come out at around that.

I am nearly 40, so my Saturday nights out now are not just getting in a bar and caning it. They are taxis in and out of town, ?45. Meal out ?30-80. Wine ?40-100.
Plus I have my wife to pay for.

And I would guess most of the SNK fans out there that this is aimed at are of a similar age, many 10 years older than me. They are probably just happy to have it, ?160 for it to sit there and make them smile is enough.
Some people spend that on a 12" snk figure FFS!!
Some people spend that on a crap game because it is rare and sealed. I don't get that.

I think spending thousands on holidays is a colossal waste of money

Spending over ?8000 on a car is a massive colossal waste of money mainly because its value has gone before its driven out of the forecourt - especially ?15,000+ just a penis extension

Spending over ?1000 on a watch colossal waste of money especially tags which generally half in value straight away

Exactly, everyone likes different things. Personally I get the car thing, I do get holidays and I do get watches (within reason).

However, I have mates with tens of thousands of pounds worth of fishing gear!!
Mates who spend the same shooting bloody birds out of the sky! WTF is that about!?

It is there, for me it was meant as a piece of kit to make you smile and I reckon it has done that. If you buy it for what it is I think you will enjoy it, but it expecting it to be an AES for the current generation of gamers and you will be disappointed.

Yeah it is good.
Problem is with all the moaning we will probably never see anything like this again from anyone.
