One of my fantasies, should we ever end up in an apocalypse, is to go into the houses of dead people and root around through their papers and files and photo albums, and build up an understanding of them, maybe even invent fake histories, and then after several years of this pretend to be the fake characters I've invented in these houses and then write and post letters to each other.

It was a great plan until my brother pointed out that no one would collect the post left in post boxes after an apocalypse. I just explained that they would become like time capsules, should aliens visit our dead world and go through everything, they would find a totally fictional series of people writing letters to each other that were never delivered!

Good for you, assuming you'll live through the apocalypse.

As a piece of advise though, in a post-apocalyptic world, it's probably best to make sure the people are dead before you go raking through their bits. You could eat their food too, so double whammy.

Also, whatever you do in life, never, ever go looking for the bomb that can make your dreams come true
