This is the current version of Unreal engine having it's featured shown off.
Mark Rein has said that Unreal Engine 4 will make all that look like crap!

That's impressive - the processing needed to make the models move though must be stupid high at that level of detail.

I was really impressed when I first saw the PS2 tech demo showcasing the new water effects:

True. I think as far as eye candy goes Konami always set a high benchmark. Thinking back, I reckon Silent Hill 2 wasn't a million miles away from the early tech demos.
