So I was just wondering if you have a favourite track from a game. Just how important is it to have a solid soundtrack to a game? See I've now got over 3000 tracks on my mp3 player played from games alone. I never appreciate music at the time when I play through a game for the first time I'm always focused on how to complete the game first. Do you appreciate music when you are playing through a game? An example of just awesomeness http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-9my0tsutw

I've got quite a few game soundtracks on my phone they're great for cheering me up on my commute. At the moment I've got Deathsmiles arrange which makes for crazy listening on the tube! I've also got some Silent hill (bleak), the soundtrack from Shatter (which is fantastic) but my current favorite is the soundtrack from Fast Striker by CJOE & KEYOD, its just BRILLIANT.

Another track I just thought of for purely nostalgia reasons is this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT7g04UdQys&feature=related I would really like to actually know what music makes you nostalgic when it comes to games you have played over the years?

Always had a soft spot for this, probably because I spent so long on this stage of the game. I used to lend my cart out all the time and my friends would become completely hooked, but they'd always, always save over my cities. Basts.
I love Space Giraffe, so I'm currently listening to this a lot on my MP3 player as well:
Jumping on the Shatter bandwagon too:
And, of course:
... all of which are kind-of funny, as they're not really like any non-game music I usually listen to. They're just the perfect accompaniment to those games, and listening to them gives me that warm, fuzzy feeling of playing. Except Streets of Rage, where the urge to punch fellow commuters grows when it pops up on my playlist.

I've not really, really liked a game soundtrack for years. It's really obvious in fighting games, SF2 and Tekken 3, some of the KOF series and others had loads of great tracks which you often didn't get sick of after thousands of times hearing them. No recent game has had that quality, for me. Just my opinion. Can only the 360 allow you to do a custom soundtrack for any game? I used to just rip my favourite game and film soundtracks and then play them instead of the bland crap that came with most modern games. From what little I got to play of Child of Eden before my 360 gave up the ghost, the music was laughably bad, perhaps it improves later on in the game... The 'vocals' were terrible.
