How would you stop people installing the games and then passing them onto friends to do the same?

Personally all my purchases are physical and will stay that way, I think. Cant help but think I'm getting dicked when I end up paying pretty much the same price for a game I have no way of reselling and I'm at the mercy of publishers if they wish to remove the game for whatever reason.

Don't really care about physical copies for anything nowadays. All tv, movies i get through Amazon Prime, Netflix, My Cable or Xbox. Music is itunes. PC Games - Steam / GOG.

XBOX and PS3 are pretty much the only physical media i have in the house, and i would ditch that if all games were available, and they discounted prices more.

My only issue about digital is the lack of discounts.
Let's see how you feel in 10 to 15 years time when you want to play that classic but you can't because your system died and you had to buy a new one but the download servers have been off line for years so you can't re-download games you paid for. Basically you are screwed. Just imagine if all 16 bit and 32 bit consoles were download only. It would be impossible for us to play hundreds of different games we grew up loving. There's also no point in saying "such and such company will keep all data online" because they won't. They can't even keep stuff from the beginning of the current generation on line to this day.

Digital distribution is a step backwards IMO. Physical media is by far the better rout for the future.

I will probably buy Minna no Golf digitally. I will always want to play that sometimes, and if my system dies, it is a common enough title to be found in the second hand shops later.

But most of the other games, definitely physical. I love browsing second hand shops, and selling old games I have no further use for.

Can you use multiple memory cards under the one PSN account without any messing about like the swapping of PSN accounts?

same as. I no longer collect, games for me are now buy, beat, trade. While paying 2-12 quid on a download is fine I will NEVER pay "full price" for a download. EVER.

when gaming goes download only (or they stop used games working) and they want 40 quid a pop for it, I will be finding a new hobby. as it is, the Vita is now the same as my xbox...a mix of disk based "full" games and low priced downloads.

I can easily see myself downloading games that I'll come back to in small bursts. Having something quick and easy like Motorstorm RC on a cart would make the game much less appealing. Its immediacy is what makes it great. Having to fiddle with the cart every time I want to play something for less than a minute will make the effort too much. So might download Ridge Racer, Unit 13 and similar games.

And thanks for the poll, whomever.

Sony are certainly encouraging us to download games, with better prices than they ever had for digital copies of PS3 games and the fact that they are giving away vouchers for downloadable versions of things left right and center. I dont really like the idea though, I like actually having the game in my hands.

Its not just becuase its nice to actually own somthing physical though, I actually seem to play games that I actually have on disk or cartridge alot more too. There are very few downloadable versions of games that I actually complete, which is odd, but true...

...and this is coming from someone who has about 1500 iphone games on his itunes.

I only have 16GB of storage, so that makes download only a challenge! I said "Mostly" as if there are titles that are either:

1.) Very Small in size & maybe not even available as Cart

                      or

2.) Classic games I will be playing over and over again (Like Mario3D on my 3DS) then they will be best as Download.

3.) I hope that large capacity cards are available in the next 12months (64Gig) and that we get the option to install our games to the memory card. That would be best.

                      Otherwise it will be carts.....
