A little help with swapping PS3 game saves please!

I'm rather confused by how dififcult this is proving to be as I (seemingly foolishly) presumed it would be easy.

I sold my last PS3 in November last year as I had played all the games I wanted to at that time and couldn't see much else on the horizon until the new year. But I saved all my games' progression onto a USB.

I've recently repurchased another PS3 and wanted to try and complete all the trophies for both Uncharted 3 and Batman: Arkham City. So I uploaded my game saves to the PS3 and tried Uncharted 3 first. The game save showed on the main screen but when I tried to access it, it said that this save was from another user and if I continued then I wouldn't be able to earn any trophies. So I thought that was no big deal but decided to start again from another save slot anyway. So it was all good as the game doesn't take that long to complete.

But then I tried Batman and even though it showed my old save on the main screen, it wouldn't let me access it. It just said that "this is a save from another user, if you continue it will be overwritten". So then I was really pissed off because I had completed the game on hard mode and just wanted to go back and get all the Riddler trophies. After much gnasking of teeth, I decided to start again using another save slot, but after I got the batsuit, a messge appeared saying 'no trophy allocated'. So I have to continue without trophies?

What has me really confused is that I never logged-in on either PS3 with a username; they both just say 'user 1'. So why won't it let me use my saves from another PS3?

Have I done something really stupid or are Sony just being a royal pain in the arse!?
Don't look at me, I'm irrelevant.

Some saves lock to the console, only ways round it (which are too late for you unfortunately) are an Ethernet transfer of saves from the original ps3 or if you were a ps plus member then you could have pulled them back from online storage

      Cheers dude.
That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard! (Sony's policy, not your advice.
OK, so if I now join PS Plus and upload my saves from my USB, can I then download them to my conole and will that work?

I would guess (and it's only a guess) it would not work they would have to be uploaded from the console the save was originally made on

None of this makes any sense. Any saves that are locked to the console simply cannot be backed up e.g. Demon's Souls would not back up at all. If you have backed the files up then you should be able to restore them to another console. Are you using the same PSN account as last time?

            Yes I am mate.
The really stupid thing is that even though I've started a new game of batman in a new slot, it still won't let me earn any trophies!
            What's that about?

Because you have already earned those trophies I'm guessing, and it knows you have. Sorry I can't help more.
