My most expensive GameCube purchase is still getting Resident Evil for 37.99 from GAME the week after the game launched. I think that was the last GC game I got from them. I did get a sweet deal on the South Park movie back in 2000, when DVDs weren't cheap.
12 years ago! That was a dual sided DVD in a cardboard sleeve wasn't it?
Walk into gamestation today, priced The Darkness 2 poster with lenticular sleeve on offer and extra 5quid trade in.
Walk in have look around, guy approaches, usual comes out and I ask a genuine question.
What price you putting out the darkness 2 tomorrow?
Don't know, we won't know til the price updates 6pm.
So you have no idea?
No sorry but if you trade in any 2 games you get extra 5 quid, no matter the game, you can trade in Fifa 09 older titles etc etc
Cheers I will check tomorrow....
Would have appreciated it more if he just said its gonna be 44.99 rather than giving me no idea of a price, things like this bother me somewhat they push pre-orders but can't even tell me the price of a game i could have had on order, day before its out.
Went into the local Game to take a look at the PS Vita. Demo unit not on display! Even though they have a big sign outside. Just wanted to see the screen. And they wonder why they are not enticing people to buy one. Nightmare, don't put a big sign outside if I can't look at it. Still did not see any MGS: HD either and New Releases were buried at the back of the store. They really need to emphasize the New Releases.
You do find the occasional nice game,GS though I went in to get a FF13-X2 guide and was given the pre order bonus for free without asking although I do go in quite a bit still a nice gesture
Ugh..... Just found out GAME are not opening midnight for VITA launch.... guess more cuts!! Gutted, guess that kinda does it for me now as thats the only real reason I use them for console launches.
Bloody hell not looking good I would definately be looking for a new job if I was employed at one of the stores it's not looking good this will just loose them more custom what's the point of going to a game specialist when they only stock the biggest games that makes it the same as a supermarket Albeit a more expensive one
I was talked to in a shocking way when buying something in Gamestation Newcastle on Sunday, if i had not needed the product there and then i would have walked out.
No wonder they are in the **** when that is their idea of customer service.

The gamestation in the galleries (washington) has always had good customer service from my experience. Obviously, these employees need putting in their place, they are there to help customers not berate them. I would have asked to talk to the manager. Unless it was the manager...in which case, I just wouldn't return.
Newcastle GS are a bit funny like that but they are probably just pissed off because everyone that goes in and I mean everyone knows to make them match CEX that and Grainger being 2 mins away must be a pretty naff place to work, The best GS by far in the north east is Bishop Auckland I live in Durham but would rather drive there than pretty much any store as the staff are canny as out
The Cambridge GameStation is a fantastic shop, bought from them for years. Fantasticly friendly staff, decent retro knowledge and always happy to chat to you at the till. Southend were a quality outfit too, in fact I've never had a bad experience with any GameStation.
