Disappointed with those screenshots. It doesn't look like DOOM at all!

Doesn't look like doom. Good thing. That environment has run its course and been bettered by dead space (which I also didn't like). Id can make a good shooter. This might be it. Still need to play rage (was waiting for pc version to get patched up nicely. I guess that's happened now ?)

It's urban environments that have run their course, traditional Doom would provide something different from the norm, and something much needed at that. Isn't Doom 4 meant to be just like the old ones with loads of enemies, the one thing missing from Doom 3?

Yeah there hasn't exactly been a wealth of Hell based games but there's been a lot of destroyed cities/post-apocalyptic wastelands like in those images.

Hmmmm. I'm mostly just remembering that doom 3 wasn't something I enjoyed very much. Those doom 4 screenshots look pretty. I'm hopeful.

I did lose faith in Doom IV as I thought Rage was a pile of ****. I anticipated it, and then it came along... ugh. Incredibly bad design, repetitive missions, stupid driving sections and lifeless visuals.

ID's been living in the past, I almost can't believe Doom IV will actually be great. Doom 3 wasn't for example.

Your ignorance proves you can't investigate that I've played the PC version for several hours.

People dig at iD for coming out with **** games that in your opinion are great - but they really aren't, they stink terribly. Someone said they were living in the past but I disagree, if they were living in the past their new stuff would be **** hot.

RAGE was tedious, a beautiful tech demo.

If your idea of a good game is enemies running at you until you shoot them, then possibly I could understand why you'd like it.

I didn't realise id (being a traditionally PC developer and all) had gone ahead and made Rage a 360 exclusive!

                      Good job genius

The latest Painkiller game, Recurring Evil was released on steam recently and is about 7 quid. Ive no idea if its any good but Im guessing that its alot more like Doom than Doom 4 is probabaly going to be.

I agree that Id's problem isnt that they are living in the past, its simply that they cant work in the present. Rage felt like a game of several parts stuck together and none were all that great. The FPS shooting segments were well designed but the gunplay lacked kick, the open world elements were an monotonous disguise to a game that was actually quite linear and the car combat, while not as bad as I thought it was going to be, still felt tacked on and like it was from a different game. Was a bit of a mess, a nice looking mess, but still a mess. It wanted to be like Borderlands, but was in actuality more like Boredom land.

Well I missed something datadave doesn't have a PS3 and the likes of Ninja Gaiden II didn't come out on the PC. So lets drop the sad Nintendo grudge please, its getting old and pathetic now.
