I really like motion controls myself. I share pretty much the same opinion as FSW on this, bar the PES thing as I have never tried it.

Zelda Skyward Sword was one of the best gaming experiences I ever had due to the brilliant sword fighting. Metroid Prime is also utterly brilliant with the motion setup and very easy to play relaxed.
One thing, Zelda SS is not a game to generally play if you want to slouch back and relax, is does require a fair bit of effort to play at times which seems to bother a few lazy people.

Overall I think the Wii has been a good thing for gaming but both control systems must remain. It would be better if motion controls were an option for all of the whingers to still enjoy the games or on a more serious note, for less able bodied players perhaps.

i keep struggling with the calibration of Move control. wanted to play Killzone 3 using the Sharp Shooter but never managed to make it precise so i could also aim with the gun. already tried to switch of and reset the magnet but it keeps being off-set. anyone here who had the same problems but managed to get it to work?

Actually all motion controls make you look like a complete fool. Even on the ipad and stuff, I saw a guy on the bus playing a racing game on his ipad the other day, he looked like he was having a seziure.

They only work well for about one genre, and thats lightgun games, the rest of the time they are either not responsive enough or are just a complete hidderance compared to simply using a pad. Metrid Prime did not work better on the Wii than on the Gamecube IMO, I like to play games for more that a minute without feeling like my arm is going to fall off.
I had an old photo of me in my Wii playing posture. I looked like a couch potato, my arms by my sides, no reason to even lift them at all. It was actually a lot more comfortable to sit like that rather than having my hands grasping on to a pad. IIRC the only time I had to lift my arm was to gesture for unlocking doors in MP3, and anything else that required forward/backward thrusts.

I think Kinect was actually designed to make you look silly, however (in front of the family).

The targeting in MP3 and S&P2 is perfect. No need for it to get better IMO. There is however tons of room for improvement when it comes to gestures and rotations.

Motion controls are a novelty and a boring one at that.

They are sufficiently advanced now that they could have been put to proper practical application in cars or other machinery. The reason no one has done that? They are crap and the lack of physical feedback doesn't work for the way we as a species exert our control over objects. I wish people would stop forcing them on us in our leisure pursuits.
