Disappointed that this didn't get funded, but it's just one guy doing absolutely everything.
He posted an update video and he says he did a lot of the prep work and will try to release it independently, but that way means he takes the brunt of the costs upfront, rather than raising the funds via Kickstarter.

    Update video:

I'm definitely investigate when that happens, but I'm seriously tempted to just buy the first book, even though it's about €35.

So Thems fighting herds it was announced that development will end after some updates and characters released https://www.ign.com/articles/thems-f...unity-backlash

Of course it got the backlash as usual but in the end I was a backer and will have to wait and see if they talk about some of the stuff they have still not honored in the original campaign like some of the physical rewards I do think the response is a bit over kill....for me it got more characters then i expected and while it is only partially a story mode I know they cannot keep working on the game forever as probably no money coming in

I played and quite liked Genesis Noir, and while I want to support a sequel I find it slightly odd to have the team back at Kickstarter, cap in hand, particularly as...

We are grateful to have received support from Xbox and Epic Games, who have recognized the potential and quality of our game. Thanks to them, we have been able to create our vertical slice and our alpha build. We are also happy to announce that the game will be available to play on Xbox Game Pass on release.

However, we still need your support to make this game truly something special. The funding from Xbox and Epic Games covers only a portion of our development costs, and we still have many expenses and challenges ahead of us. We need additional funding for art, QA, localization, and potentially, stretch goals like full voice acting. We also need your doodles and messages to help make the game more personal and meaningful.
... no release for Sony or Nintendo consoles, and it's going straight to GamePass?

Currently on Volume - An Oral History of Guitar Hero

During the reign of the PS2, around the end of 2005, two small players in the gaming industry were scratching that itch as they finessed what would become a gaming phenomenon for the next decade. Guitar Hero bundled a little plastic Gibson SG peripheral with 47 electrifying backing tracks as developers Harmonix unleashed a whole new button-mashing genre.

Guitar Hero never taught anyone to play the guitar… but it sure felt like it. Game nights became head-banging parties that all your friends were invited to. As the fanbase grew, so did the setlist, with A-listers Aerosmith, Van Halen and Metallica all lending their unforgettable back catalogues. As the craze spread, so too did the play-along opportunities, with 2007’s Rock Band adding plastic drums, bass and vocals to the mix. It seemed like the party would never end… until it suddenly did.

The Oral History of Guitar Hero, Rock Band and the Music Game Boom is the definitive story of a game that, entirely fittingly, lived fast and died young. Building upon Blake Hester’s celebrated 2021 history of Guitar Hero for Vice, it widens its gaze to cover the evolution of the Rock Band series, from its first tentative press of the red fret button to its insane overblown crescendo of songs, hype and impossible-to-pack-into-the-loft plastic peripherals.
I dunno man... I've put myself down for this, but I have a very strong suspicion that if I ever actually read it, it's going to make me very angry by completely glossing over everything Konami did in this space long before Guitar Hero or Rock Band.

Universal remote, which is tempting now that Logitech have stopped their Harmony remote series and mine have started failing.

Kickstarter vets Human Things (Genki headphone adapter et all) have a new campaign:

Intro to the video is very, very cringeworthy, but I went from not understanding the product at all to going "ohhhh, that would be nice" at the idea of a wee clip-on drive for the Deck that serves as an entirely separate Windows boot option loaded with whatever I want on there (read: OutRun 2).

The big downer for me is that I don't see a way to use it *and* a dock at the same time. I just searched the Kickstarter campaign and the word "dock" doesn't even come up once, which to me says that they're very aware it's a limitation and probably don't want to shine a light on it.

I kind of see the appeal but I'm not sure I found the process that expensive/a hassle to warrant the product as a better option. I have W11 installed but most of the time am on Steam anyway and if I really wanted the W11 support that much I'd have probably bought a ROG instead.

Less to do with actual games but seeing a lot of kickstarter projects that really should not be as they are just preorders from large companies, Saw Coolermaster has done several and then saw this Original MEDIEVAL SPAWN Action Figure & Comic Remastered '24
