Beenox are good Spidy dev and I enjoyed Spiderman Edge of Time, couple that with a bit of free roam action reckon this will be a good romp.

IOS version is out Thursday too. On Ipad it looks like it breaks new ground in what to expect from IOS games, full free roam in Manhatten

Combat and web swinging (or is it slinging?) appears to be very basic, but it still looks like great fun.

But there is something crazy like 700 collectibles around the map. Dont know how many of those are full comic books though but even so that's a whopping amount

Bought the iOS version this morn and had quick play on the iPad 3. First impressions are good. The detail on spideys suit is v v good. Open world city is nice but some nasty draw in as the engine adds detail to buildings and as you get closer. Manhattan has been reduced a lot in size which I can understand. One thing I can't understand is there is no empire state building. Whenever I play a new spiderman game I climb to the top and kamikaze off it so that's a major negative for me there is a very tall building down near where the WTC used to stand but you can't climb to the top. Once you get about 30ft from the top the game throws you off. Guess this must be due to limitations in the Gamestar engine

Ive avoided looking at this game apart from the few e3 videos, but how is it for movie spoilers?

It's set immediately after the events of the film so it likely spoils the ending.

One thing I can't understand is there is no empire state building.

That's really odd as the cast and crew were there the other week as part of their promotional tour. The building is going to start flashing blue and red when the film comes out.

They refused to light it up for the Spider-Man musical when they wouldn't change the backdrop from depicting the Chrysler Building to the Empire State.

My guess is that you have to pay a The Empire State Building to use its likeness. The silhouette is trademarked.

Well I found the empire state building, or half of it at least its there but is cut off about two thirds way up and is topped with a sloping roof. Interesting to hear it may be due to licensing rights. The engine can handle the hight cos the oscorp building in the game is at least as high. Hoping the PS3 version has it in there. Gameloft must be skinflints

Bought it early this morning I think it popped up about 1am,had a quick go but suffered the blurry eyes syndrome at that time.
Will try it out in work tonight after the Italy vs Germany game
