For me I would have to say Ridge Racer V. WTF? I hear you say . 3 years after the PS2 launch I still find myself playing it on a weekly basis, It just reaks of japanese arcade racing fun! too bad the "disk read error" problem makes it difficult sometimes to play.

Ive been playing this solid since 1998, going through the championship or just a few stages in a spare five minutes. No other game has come close to the design & gamepaly perfection of CMR

its just the right length, just the right amount of challenge, just the right amount of modes, perfect handling, graphics that instead of trying to look photorealistic (which it cant because its a psone game - although this never stopped developers trying and failing) the game goes for a beautiful "constable painting" look that still holds up today..

other titles: waverace blue storm, animal crossing, wipeout 2097, broken sword, grandia, rollercoaster tycoon, the longest journey.. and probably a few hundred others
