Newly announced by Activision is 007 Legends for X360 and PS3. They've yet to specify a genre for the game but in short they're positioning it as a 50th Anniversary title which takes players through classic moments of 6 Bond films before finishing with sequences based on the upcoming twenty third film Skyfall.

The game will feature a host of multiplayer modes including some aspects from Goldeneye: Reloaded suggesting either a standard FPS or third person release (though Activisions releases to date would imply an FPS is a shoe-in).

I really like the idea of this, but why do they have to shove Daniel Craig's mug into this?

I'm guessing it's legal/contractual reasons, but it wasn't him who drove a Lotus sub or infiltrated Blofeld's volcano base or bungee jumped into the chemical weapons facility at Arkhangelsk.

I liked how they put his likeness in the goldeneye remake, it made it feel like a proper update.

If its got elements of 6 older bond films then I want Roger Moore. And hopefully a Lotus vs Helicopter chase

More info on this has emerged. It's a FPS and you play the whole game as Daniel Craig. Apparently there is a contract stipulation that the current Bond actor is the only one who can play Bond in any games released. I guess Sean Connery in From Russia With Love was released between Pierce and Daniel while the role was vacant which is how that one was possible.

Real shame because seeing all the old Bonds in one game would be an instant buy for me, especially Sir Rog who I grew up with and still see as the real Bond.

The story seems to be Bond is unconscious at the start and the old films appear as flashbacks of previous missions. It could still be ok but I hope they add some of the classic chase scenes in like Little Nelly, the Lotus sub and a ski chase from On Her Majestys. They could end that level with a union jack parachute jump to really top it off.

I'm presuming it's something MGM put in place, seems stupid to be honest given the other Bond's faces are freely used in all other media outlets and merchandise arena's and the public is perfectly capable of understanding the differences. Daniel Craig in the old Bonds is just... wrong.

Totally agree CTN. I think the old Bond actors would have loved to have come back and voice the game as well, with possible exception of Sean. I heard he got 2.5 million dollars to voice and appear in the FRWL game.
if I were the devs I would put a custom character creation tool in so the fans can sort out the real Bonds for multiplayer mode

The fees for them all would of made the game too much of a financial risk. I don't think it's a bad thing, Daniel Craig is Bond right now and the games with his face in are a product of the same era.

I don't think it matters , he'll be facing away from screen the whole game anyway.

Yup, the voice work would cost a fortune but MGM must own the rights to their likenesses as Bond. Shame they probably won't even appear as multiplayer skins. Battle of the Bonds!

The new Skyfall trailer has a trailer for this at the end confirming it will be an FPS, will release October 16th and will cover 6 films, the trailer highlighting Moonraker

Activision has confirmed the second of the 6 Bond films to be covered in this game after Moonraker. Surprisingly, it's On Her Majesty's Secret Service
