The keepers still do that awful belly flop save animation. It really is annoying. The player ID animations look good though.

More importantly, it looks like they parry the ball out of play. Finally.

And not straight into the feet of the onrushing striker.

So, excitement levels are 55/45 in favour of PES this year. Still looking forward to both but Fifa has become stale.

Agreed. Plus master league is usually awesome. The demo's will decide where my money goes.

I think I'm about 60/40 I'll be laying down my cash on PES this year especially if EA continue their micro transaction bollocks seen in Tiger Woods 13

These vids are all well and good but if the controls to do the special functions are complex or required 3 hands then its a waste of time for most players I know.

In 2012 PES, tricks were not difficult to do and some subtle but silky dribbling deft touches (depending on your player you were controlling), were done automatically and contextually. Maybe they will do the same in 2013. They definately were not as complex as FIFA anyway. PES2012 even let you set controller presets for tricks i.e Holding R1 and pushing a direction on the right stick.

The fancy touches you see in the trailers when receiving the ball are done by pressing R2 as you receive the ball. From there you can do a number of things such as knock the over a play, set up a volley/half volley, chest it, and set yourself up for the spectacular overhead kick (but only the highly skilled will manage that one).

Those keeper animations are the only thing worrying me. It takes the wow factor away from scoring a great goal.

You just know Hoolak is creaming his pants in anticipation to shout 'PES IS BACK!'.

He's never fully let Fifa into his heart you see.
