At least we know what kind of game he is making now. Not going to be released any time soon though.

The first game from Shinji Mikami's Tango Gameworks studio is a survival horror title codenamed Zwei.Andriasang brings word from Famitsu that the creator of Resident Evil and Vanquish is executive director on the project, but is fully involved in development. He explained that he wanted to make a game that met player expectations, and understandably felt survival horror was the best way to do it.
While planning began late in 2010, development is still in the early stages - so early, in fact, that Mikami is yet to decide on target platforms. In an interview last month, Toru Takahashi, general manager of Tango parent company ZeniMax Asia, said the game would not be released until 2013 at the earliest.
During the same interview, Mikami revealed what we now know asZwei was running on an external engine, albeit one that had been so heavily customised it was practically an internal one.
This will be Mikami's first game since Platinum Games' 2010 shooter Vanquish, which he directed.

Officially announced as The Evil Within and launching on current and next gen consoles next year. No details or images other than the logo.

Here's a few factoids about the game:

-The game promises to have limited resources and be full of puzzles and traps. They want to fill the player with anguish, tension, and anxiety and send them off the deep end.

-Any enemy will be easily able to kill the player apparently

-random environment distortions in real-time ala Silent Hill - doors, walls, steps and so on.

-you're being hunted by something mysterious and dark throughout the game.

-striving to blend action with survival horror in the correct way

-Pushes id tech 5 to the limit

-released for current and next gen platforms

Sure does look VERY Resi 4 but if Shinji still has stuff to explore in that formula, I'm not complaining.

Surprised that there isn't more excitement over this; it's easily my most-anticipated game at the moment. Have Capcom's ham-fisted follow-ups to Resi 4 killed off interest in a genuine successor?

There is only so many horror games I can take with zombie like creatures in them im getting really sick of them it's a piss poor lack of imagination cop out, the info bits like the environments distorting sounds rather cool but after watching the leaked gameplay vid it looks like something I have already played to death it looks just like another generic biohazard style game but in a different setting YAWN. Sure it could radically change from then till release but im totally not feeling any excitement whatsoever.

This looks good but not anough advancement over resi 4. I appreciate its not a true sequel or anything but rather it looks to be a clone.

PAX East trailer. Genuinely excited for this, don't know why. Possibly because I haven't played a good survival horror game since RE4, possibly because I haven't played any survival horror games since RE4.

Is that PS3 gameplay? Remember it looking alot better in previous vids. Love me some Clair de lune. If I remember correctly, Resident Evil 1 had the whole Moonlight Sonata thing going on and there's a blatent nod to the first zombie you encounter too. Love it.

Delayed 2 months to 24th Oct in EU. This is going to get absolutely slaughtered at retail now. That window effectively puts it directly in the likely release window of 2 AC's, Arkham Knight, CoD and BF plus more
